  • Peaceful Cabin!

"If you're looking for a comfortable, quiet, beautiful place to stay for a very decent price, consider this cabin. The beds were sooo comfy, kitchen was nice, absolutely loved the screened-in porch! The only downside is that you have to do quite a bit of driving to many things. If you just want to stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful scenery, though, it's hard to beat!"

  • Perfect Mountain Cottage!!! Will definitely return!!!

"My family just spent the weekend at this Bat Cave Mountain Cabin and we had such a wonderful time! The owners are very easy to work with and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable! Upon arriving we were told by the owners that they just discovered the fridge wasn't cooling properly and that they were going to purchase a new one and it would be delivered that afternoon. Within a couple hours a brand new fridge was delivered and installed! The cabin was very nicely decorated, had everything we needed and had many movies to choose from for my children to watch in the evenings. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the river! It was a great weekend getaway and we are already planning our next trip!"

  • Can't wait to return to Ada's Cottage!

"Ada's Cottage is a wonderful, (not too) little cottage tucked away in a sweet neighborhood that lines the the Blowing Rock Golf Course. It's easily accessible, quiet and secluded, but still very close to downtown Blowing Rock, and many other nearby conveniences and attractions. The cottage is lovely. Upstairs, you enter into a cozy little reading room, with a nice variety of books to choose from if you didn't bring one with you. Many were written by authors who have stayed at Ada's Cottage! The reading room opens into a short hallway, with a bedroom to the left and full bath to the right, before opening into a large living room and kitchen area. The upstairs bedroom is fairly spacious, and quite comfy, with a fun surprise for you at the end of the day. The bedroom windows look out over a beautiful rock wall and flower garden. The living area has big windows all around that look out over the fantastic yard, and a pretty nice view as well. We were there in the spring, and there were loads of blooming flowers and trees. The kitchen is open to the living area, and has new appliances and plenty of cooking supplies and dishes. From the living area, kitchen and back porch, you can see the tip-top of Grandfather Mountain straight ahead, and a nice little ridge over to the right too. The spiral staircase in the center of the cottage takes you down to the bottom floor which has a very nice bedroom and brand new bathroom. There is also a large laundry room downstairs, with a front loading washing machine, and a good dryer. Both floors have doors that open onto porches, and there is a porch on the front side of the house, as well. Everything is very clean and tidy. The beds are comfortable, and the linens and towels are good quality. We were there with our teenage son, who was impressed with the wi-fi signal. There are two nice televisions, along with blu-ray players - one in the living area, and one in the upstairs bedroom. The owner lives close-by and is super responsive if you need him. He's also a very interesting guy so be sure to chat with him if you get the chance! With your rental info, he sends along some helpful info, and reviews of some of the area's better restaurants. Don't pass Ada's Cottage by! You will love staying here!"

  • Great Outdoor Experience

"This home is located near the mouth of a cove, which is perfect for those wanting to swim and canoe without getting out into the main part of the lake. The view is breathtaking and we spent most of our time on the deck over the boathouse. The layout of the house is perfect for those with 2 families or those with older children or teenagers, who may want to stay downstairs. Our family of 5 used the upstairs, but there was room downstairs to accommodate 5 more people. The downstairs was relatively cool, even in August. The house is stocked with games for rainy days and the boathouse has a canoe, fishing poles (my children caught several fish) and floats. My children also liked the ducks that would come to visit. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and we only went out to dinner once. We did rent a pontoon boat at Lake Lure Adventures, which was very close to the house."
