"Enjoyed our visit very much. Accommodation very homey and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Great view and deck. Enjoyed feeding the birds. House a little musty from being closed up. You can use Fabreze spray on carpets and furniture to eliminate this. Wash sheets and towels in Borax. Caretaker was very helpful. Location near interesting sights and shops. Don't know if we will be able to visit again as we are seniors not in the best of health. Otherwise, we certainly would. Best to you and yours."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is very clean and the construction is very well done with an attention to detail. Everything is put together so well. The location is perfect - right beside the Linville River. The back porch is literally just feet from the river so you can sit in the porch swing and listen to the smooth rolling water. What a soothing sound! We will definitely visit again."

"I just returned from a "girls only" weekend getaway with my daughter at The Cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I look forward to returning again in the future with my husband. I know he would love it, as well. If you're looking for cozy, rustic charm, this place has it. The cabin was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed, including campfire forks for toasting my marshmallows (thanks!) The view from the cabin is lovely and I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee watching the fog move through the valley below. I really liked that the cabin is located by itself at the end of the road with no neighbors anywhere near. If you like quiet solitude, you get it here. We enjoyed a hike up the hill behind the cabin and walked along the ridge to the edge of a Christmas tree farm where it opened up to gorgeous views. The following day we drove to Roan Mountain and hiked the balds (Round, Jane and Grassy Ridge) at Carvers Gap, which offer spectacular mountain views, and is an easy drive from The Cabin (about 30 minutes). I highly recommend this hike if you've never been (5 miles round trip). After a long day of hiking (and hitting some nearby antique shops!), I was eager to get back to our comfy cabin. That evening we made a nice meal (the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, utensils, pots/pans, spices, etc.) and we relaxed on the deck with a bottle of wine and a game of Scrabble. Later we enjoyed a campfire. Ahhhh, does it get any better than this? Not for me! When can I return?"

"We had a wonderful stay in this magical cabin. It is in a location convenient to Linville Falls, Grandfather mountain and more and yet tucked away in complete peace and quiet. It is well stocked with everything you need to make it a home away from a home but is different enough from your average home to make your visit into a true holiday. We highly recommend this cabin in the hills!"
