"This was the perfect vacation for our family of 7 which included our 2 grandkids. This beautiful home brought a feeling of peace and total tranquility as you unwind and relaxed in a beautiful quiet setting. Our grandkids enjoyed watching the turkeys, deers and squirrels in the late evening. The resort was everything you could ask for: beach, indoor pool, outdoor pool, lazy river and kiddy pools as well as mini golf. Cook or go out to eat was an option b/c everything was so convenient. We would recommend this home away from home to anyone who is looking for a spacious, comfortable and relaxing home to enjoy yourself or your family."

"Where do I begin? This place was amazing! Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and just 30 minutes from downtown Asheville, this is the place for you if you're looking for a quiet retreat. The pictures online don't even compare to the real experience. Even in winter it's gorgeous!! Upon entering the cottage, you're immediately entranced by its welcoming warmth and vibe. With a quick glance around, you'll find local honey, coffee, handmade soap, and goodies in the fridge (eggs, corn meal, and the most tasty jam you've ever had!) This place has it all... gas fireplace, cedar soak tub, grill, adorable decor, and so very clean!!! I'm seriously OCD about cleanliness and was pleased as punch with this place. While sitting on the patio you can hear the creek running past the cottage and birds chirping away. So cozy!! You can tell a lot of thought and love went into the making of this cabin. Dawn and Stephen were so accommodating and kind. We happened upon Stephen one day when we were exploring the farm, as he was shelling some heirloom corn in an old crank from the late 1800s. We couldn't help but ask all kinds of questions and he wasn't the least bit bothered by our incessant questioning. We loved walking around visiting the farm animals and Sam, a Great Pyrenees, was such a friendly companion. The farm store was a great way for us to buy some items to take back with us. Local items are for sale (pottery, soap) as well as more honey (we had to have more!), eggs, and frozen meats. We drove to Asheville for dinner one evening, but really didn't want to leave the cottage. As we were leaving it started to snow and we both felt a little sadness as the cottage and farm disappeared from our rear view mirror. I'm not a huge fan of vacationing in the same spot twice, but I would love to return here again one day!!!"

"Perfect place and great value for our recent visit to the area - the property was clean, had home-like amenities and allowed us to host some local friends for a drink and dinner after a long hike on the Profile Trail. Loved the babbling brook in the back yard and took advantage of the lawn chairs to over look the brook, sip some wine and read a good book. The location was optimal for visiting local tourist sites as well as downtown Boone. Andrea was wonderful to us and offered us tips on local restaurants (which we took advantage of and loved) and her shop (Bear Creek trader) had great gifts/memorabilia at a reasonable price (lower,) as compared to other venues/shops we looked at. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a comfortable country-like experience with home amenities included!"

"The cottage is exactly as described, located in a quiet neighborhood less than 5 minutes away from downtown but away from any noise and traffic. It is spotlessly clean and stocked with anything a vacationer might want. The owners live nearby, and Lonnie is super easy to work with, always available to answer questions and give tips on restaurants, places to go, local events, etc. Lots of books for a rainy day, and Lonnie's photography was a delight. A high point of the vacation was Mountain Music Concert he and Ada told us about. We spent most days exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway (less than 2 miles away) with its hiking trails and photo ops everywhere!
All in all, a perfect vacation for those who enjoy the outdoors....and the ripe blueberries growing in the beautiful yard were a bonus! We'd definitely like to visit again."
