  • 3 Day Romantic get Away

"Wonderful stay at Twisted Laurel. Owner was extremely helpful from the first day I contacted her. The home is lovely, cozy, clean and very well equipped. The grill worked great, plenty of wood for some roaring fires and the jacuzzi was awesome. Great walking area close to house for our dog. Perfect location, perfect vacation."

  • What a great home!

"My husband unlocked the door and said "Wow"! The awesome mountain view is the first thing you see. The home looks exactly like the photographs and is remarkably equipped. You need nothing except your own food and beverage. The Berg Haus is very comfortably decorated and welcoming. Our visit was beautiful, but much too short! There was constant entertainment from the birds at the birdfeeder and the chipmunks stuffing their cheeks full of seed! The home is kept very clean and neat. Just minutes from amazing Zip Lining at Hawk's Nest and a short drive to Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. The steep roads makes a great morning workout to start your day! We will be back and are telling everyone we know how great it is."

  • Great Outdoor Experience

"This home is located near the mouth of a cove, which is perfect for those wanting to swim and canoe without getting out into the main part of the lake. The view is breathtaking and we spent most of our time on the deck over the boathouse. The layout of the house is perfect for those with 2 families or those with older children or teenagers, who may want to stay downstairs. Our family of 5 used the upstairs, but there was room downstairs to accommodate 5 more people. The downstairs was relatively cool, even in August. The house is stocked with games for rainy days and the boathouse has a canoe, fishing poles (my children caught several fish) and floats. My children also liked the ducks that would come to visit. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and we only went out to dinner once. We did rent a pontoon boat at Lake Lure Adventures, which was very close to the house."

  • Multigeneraltional Acommodations!

"High Haven was perfect for a three generaltional family gathering: little girls converted the top floor into a a cafe--$.50 bought a juice box an yogurt parfait but bring your own coffee; teens took the bottom floor; and grandparents and parents were on the main floor. There were books for all ages and tastes: mythology, travel history, fiction, spirituality, mysteries, art, science--something for everybody. There were board games galore, hoseshoes, badminton and balls but best of all was a hammock and lots of grass for playing. The 100 Acre Wood provided privacy and offered a quite place for turkeys to visit. We celebrated everyody's birthday with a cake from "Fabio's Restaurant" and games on the lawn. It was a great day! It was a great vacation!"
