"This is the fourth year that my husband has participated in the Roan Moan cycling charity ride for the Bakersville Fire Dept. We have stayed in a different cabin each year and Pumpkin Patch was our favorite. A couple who are close friends always come with us and we had a wonderful getaway. We cooked in the kitchen which had spices, olive oil, etc. provided by owner. A very nice grill is on the deck that we loved sitting on in the evenings. The view is breathtaking and you don't need four wheel drive up a mountain. The folk art gives the cabin a real homey feel and we loved that the owner spent so much time carrying out the pumpkin theme. We thought it was adorable. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. We had no complaints at all. We bought pottery and jewelry at an Art and Dine show in Bakersville and really enjoyed our meal at Dry County Brewing and Pizza Shop. We are looking forward to staying here again next year."

"This house was perfect. We are a family with 3 elementary aged kids. Having the Kayak and Canoe was great. We played card games on the deck over the boat house and on the dock. The kids played catch in the grassy area and made good use of the swing set. The view from the living room and both bedrooms is beautiful. The house was very well stocked with everything that you could need in the kitchen, also board games, movies as well as comfy linens and really comfy beds. Yes, there are a lot of stairs but that's to be expected. The location is also great - Kayaking distance to the town beach. Also a short drive from restaurants and Chimney Rock Village."

"Our family of five had the good fortune of spending Christmas week at Traveler's Rest. We arrived at dusk to find the cabin and surrounding area as beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful as the photos depicted it to be. We were especially delighted to see the Christmas tree and lights, as well as firewood in the fireplace. Our family found it extremely easy to settle into the lovely home and unwind. Traveler's Rest is in a superb location; close to all amenities and attractions (e.g. ski resorts, Grandfather Mountain, wonderful restaurants, shopping, etc.), yet secluded enough to feel removed from it all - if that's what you're seeking. The cozy cabin is well-stocked with all one might need for a week away from home. The children loved hiking in the woods nearby, feeding and watching all of the birds, and sledding on the hill behind the cabin. Yes, we were fortunate to wake up to a beautiful blanket of snow on Christmas morning! Our trip to Traveler's Rest will definitely go down in the books as one of our favorites, and we look forward to returning to this magical place one day soon!"

"This house is truly wonderful, and Shanaaz was great to work with. She responded immediately and was so efficient in making all the arrangements. The house was very clean, a great size, and had lots of extras that we really enjoyed. The biggest hit with our family was the golf cart. We took family members back and forth to the pool and just rode around some to look at the beautiful scenery. Other big hits were the hot tub and two decks, as well as the grill. We had access to both an indoor and an outdoor pool, and that was really appreciated. Our 12-member family ranged in age from 7 months through teen-agers on through 66 years, and everyone was happy here. If we go to this area again, we will definitely work with Shanaaz and try to stay in this same house. The people in this area were very friendly and helpful. We loved the restaurants in Boone and Blowing Rock, including Property, Sunshine Grill, and Mellow Mushroom in Boone, as well as Town Tavern and Mellow Mushroom in Blowing Rock. I highly recommend this home and this area."
