"Rocky Creek Retreat offered a true get-away for all three generations in our family. Nestled within the mountains on the river in such a serene setting gave us time to enjoy nature while still being close enough to Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Black Mountain. It was a magical setting. The owners are very organized and the cabin was well stocked with essentials."

"This was a quick weekend getaway to visit our son at Appalachian. Condo was very nice and looked as great as the pictures. Very comfortable-the only suggestion I would make would be the addition of a recliner or comfy chair in the living room in addition to the great sofa. Loved the peace and quiet of the back porch-very comfortable seating there. View was blocked by some trees but was very peaceful and serene. Great location close to Boone, Banner Elk, Sugar and Beech Mountain. Such an easy booking and everything turned out as promised!"

"We rented this quiet mountain condo to enjoy The Fall Season. It was wonderful! The leaves were changing to many brilliant colors and although it drizzled, the real wood fireplace made our stay even more inviting. The condo is very clean and had everything needed for home cooked meals. Nearby are plenty of restaurants, golfing, the club house with indoor pool and Lake Lure activities for more entertainment. The owners are extremely accommodating and pleasantly welcoming. We recommend this condo/twnhse and hopefully will return again."

"My husband, son, two dogs and I stayed with Sally and Joe for two weeks. The cabin was perfect for our needs-- Well equipped, cozy, and most importantly, no musty cabin smell! We also spent a lot of time on their property, sampling some yummy organic fruits and vegetables, hiking the loop, swimming/exploring the creek. One evening, we hiked through the forest to the glamping site to enjoy a meteor shower with Joe and Sally and the occupants of the other cabin (wow! what an experience!). What else could we want? Another afternoon Joe took us to a neighbor's house (on the Polaris, which my 11 year old son loved!) to see a library that they built on their property (breathtaking). The cabin is about a 15-20 min drive to West Jefferson, which we really enjoyed exploring. There's a great coffee shop, fun shops, galleries (we did a painting class at Frenchie's). We also went to the New River State Park and did a kayaking tour from the General Store nearby. Grayson Highlands was wonderful too (went twice)--on both visits we were fortunate to see a mother pony and her baby. Great hiking, incredible scenery, wild blueberries--definitely worth a visit. Also, per Joe's suggestion, we did the Virginia Creeper trail which is a downhill, 17 mile bike trail that runs on an old railroad line. Fun!
My family and I have stayed in many cabins all over NC. This was by far our favorite! Great hosts, great location, great accommodations--its got it all! We'll be back! Thank you for everything!!"
