  • Cardinal's Cove and Wren's Den ~ Perfect combination!

"We rented these two side-by-side cabins ~ one for our four adult children, the other for the two of us, over Christmas week. India (owner) could not have done more to arrange the perfect accommodations for our family, even with her little toddlers and one on the way! We spent most of our time in the larger Cardinal's Cove, cooked, ate and played Wii, watched movies, played games by the fire. Washer/dryer downstairs was a nice bonus. Parking right at the foot of the cabins. Coffee on the porches in the mornings, scotch at night, overlooking the creek and woods. Great trails to walk, creekside meadow to take your dog for a spin, all right out your front door. Quaint, fun village two minutes down the road with fun shops, famous old town bar, mom and pop bookstore and wonderful pizza place. Gas station and supermarket even closer had everything we needed, including wood for those welcoming fireplaces. Beds were soooo comfy, and decor beautifully done. Normal Rockwell feel. The Wren's Den was ideal for afternoon naps or reading a book ~ or if you just wanted to get away from the bunch in Cardinal's Cove for a while. Asheville is 30 minutes away for bigger shops if that's your thing. We ventured out to the Biltmore Estate for the Christmas tour and it was unbelievably beautiful and historic. The main floor is literally palatial. You can almost feel the royalty's presence. The detail, artwork, wood, drapes and furnishings, chandeliers everywhere, all preserved in their originally intended state, but recently renovated. Choirs, flowers, candelabras throughout the winding halls and stairways. A basement of wine cellars, rooms just for lace-making, food preparation, maid's quarters, and a gigantic pool that must be seen to be believed. Don't miss it. This place just makes you want to stay forever. Beautiful, relaxing, and the best owner's we've ever found. We will definitely be back. Thank you for everything!"

  • Great holiday getaway

"Some family members and myself spent Thanksgiving at this lovely retreat. House was clean and offered all the comforts of home We were fortunate enough to see some deer while there. Thanksgiving buffett at Rumbling Bald was wonderful Very convienent location to many attractions and neighboring towns The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway Eat at La Stradas on Lake Lure and be sure to try the sweet potatoe fries with caramel pina colada sauce The only downside is the water pressure in the kitchen could be better Other than that there are no cons associated with this rental"

  • Scenic and Cozy

"Trying to find a rental property that offers something for everyone in my family can be tricky, but we found what we needed here! Skiing and tubing nearby, an indoor pool and fitness room within the Echota gated community, plenty of scenic views for walking, biking, or running, and quaint nearby restaurants in the surrounding towns kept everyone happy. The condo itself was a relaxing haven from the chilly winter weather, very well decorated and clean. There were plenty of movies for any down-time we had, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for the nights that we cooked. The scenic views from so many areas of the community are breathtaking, but especially from the large windows of the condo looking out onto expansive mountain tops. So whether you want to be adventurous and active, or just stay comfy and hibernate, you will be satisfied with your stay here!"
