  • Gorgeous getaway

"I took my dog and boyfriend here for a relaxing weekend hiking around the NC mountains. I'm glad we picked a spot away from civilization- the drive here felt like going back in time in a very good way. The worst part of the stay was having to fix the toilet (only took a couple minutes though), but perhaps leaving with only 2 days of enjoyment was much worse than that! The view from the deck was pretty amazing during the day and the summer night woods were glittered with lightning bugs. Talk about heaven on earth- sitting in a hot tub with a great view of stars galore. The inside of the cabin was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and has plenty of room to spread out with comfy couches and an overall relaxed yet spacious feeling to the place. The Saddlebrook Restaurant and staff were very accommodating and the food was great. Keep in mind you are a good drive from a town with excess shopping, but it is very convenient and a beautiful drive to Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville and other areas that you'd want to make sure to visit. Overall I would recommend this vacation rental for those looking to get away from it all, especially those with dogs and/or horses. We drove away not only wishing we could stay longer, but wanting to look at additional real estate around the Leatherwood Mountains :) Breathtaking is a good way to describe this area. We'll be back, hopefully soon!!!"

  • Perfect getaway

"This was our second visit. Yadkin Getaway was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. It was within a few miles of all of the wineries that we enjoy visiting. Laurel Gray, Raffaldini... Shiloh General Store was a nice treat as well. Their homemade breads are delicious. Suzy was great to work with. She was able to answer any questions that we had without delay. We spent many hours in the mornings on the screened porch with a cup of coffee and the afternoons on the back patio to wind down. It was so relaxing and quiet but yet everything was close by."

  • Will definitely visit the Black Mountain Hideaway again soon!

"We had a great stay at the Black Mountain Hideaway! We were there for only two short nights, but enjoyed every second. We very much appreciated the ease of check in/out and the plethora of literature on the area that was available. Everything about the Black Mountain Hideaway makes the stay easy, enjoyable and relaxing. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to vacation. As responsible pet owners, we are always grateful for facilities that accommodate our furry children. Our family, including our dogs, felt so at home in the cabin. We hope to be back very soon!"

  • Excellent Accommodations!

"Thank you so much Laura for sharing your home with our family. We appreciate all the help and information you provided in order for us to plan our trip. We felt right at home the moment we walked in the door. The home was spacious enough to accommodate our entire family comfortably whether we wanted to be together as a family or we wanted quiet time alone. The view was breathtaking and we were lucky to get snow during our trip."
