"My family spent several days during the holiday season at this beautiful cabin. There were 6 adults and a dog , and we had plenty of room. The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked great meals every night. This house is so tastefully decorated. We felt very comfortable and right at home on top of the mountain. We loved how quiet it was and enjoyed taking some hikes right from the front door. The location allows you to get to trailheads easily and to explore Boone and Blowing Rock. The owner, John, was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great holiday in the mountains, including even a tree stand and lights! Thanks John for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We'll be back!"

I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was more than happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We stayed in this house for a family celebration of our granddaughter's birthday. This meant we had three generations gathering at various times during our visit. The house accommodated all our needs, especially since there is a basement with an abundance of toys for the children to play with. The children were thrilled with their own space down stairs and it gave the adults room to visit in the main living space. The house feels new, the kitchen is well-stocked to facilitate cooking, and there is a nice space for coats and shoes in the laundry room to keep things from accumulating in the living area. We have stayed in a number of Greybeard Rentals and this is definitely one I would use again!
Manager responded on 2/19/2015:
Glad to hear that Sweet Hydrangea was a nice "gathering point" for the entire family and provided plenty of kid-friendly space. Thanks for choosing Greybeard again- we appreciate it!"

"Where do I begin? This place was amazing! Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and just 30 minutes from downtown Asheville, this is the place for you if you're looking for a quiet retreat. The pictures online don't even compare to the real experience. Even in winter it's gorgeous!! Upon entering the cottage, you're immediately entranced by its welcoming warmth and vibe. With a quick glance around, you'll find local honey, coffee, handmade soap, and goodies in the fridge (eggs, corn meal, and the most tasty jam you've ever had!) This place has it all... gas fireplace, cedar soak tub, grill, adorable decor, and so very clean!!! I'm seriously OCD about cleanliness and was pleased as punch with this place. While sitting on the patio you can hear the creek running past the cottage and birds chirping away. So cozy!! You can tell a lot of thought and love went into the making of this cabin. Dawn and Stephen were so accommodating and kind. We happened upon Stephen one day when we were exploring the farm, as he was shelling some heirloom corn in an old crank from the late 1800s. We couldn't help but ask all kinds of questions and he wasn't the least bit bothered by our incessant questioning. We loved walking around visiting the farm animals and Sam, a Great Pyrenees, was such a friendly companion. The farm store was a great way for us to buy some items to take back with us. Local items are for sale (pottery, soap) as well as more honey (we had to have more!), eggs, and frozen meats. We drove to Asheville for dinner one evening, but really didn't want to leave the cottage. As we were leaving it started to snow and we both felt a little sadness as the cottage and farm disappeared from our rear view mirror. I'm not a huge fan of vacationing in the same spot twice, but I would love to return here again one day!!!"

"Oh my gracious! Just returned from a weekend. Just what the doctor ordered. Talk about disengaging from the world of work, schedules, and obligations! What an absolutely PERFECT place for the family to reconnect. Found myself actually sitting down to read (wow, that' s been a long time). Beautiful, scenic hike with heavenly views. Nothing like breakfast with farm fresh eggs. Creek running along side the cottage and absolutely everything is picture perfect. Hank ("the sit here and watch thinker" of the dogs), Molly, and Ella, the amusing Bonnie & Clyde, the chickens, goats, and goodness let's not forget the donkeys (especially Wilson) all add to what is already absolute serenity! Steve and Lisa are so hospitable! Steve is a creative genius and Lisa's banana bread is out of this world. Though it rained all day on Saturday, I had forgotten the magic of grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and board games with the family. Not a negative to be found. Our son is already asking when we are going back! Not sure when, but we will be back! FANTASTIC!"
