  • Are you kidding me?

"Are you kidding me? I kept ask myself this question. For a very reasonable rate, I'm getting a monster house with a king size bed and the most beautiful view in the Appalacian mountains? 18 minute drive off-road to the property. No one around. Beautiful home. I'd love to come back!!! If there is any downside to the property, it would be that the land borders NC public game land. So, if you're planning on going hiking or trail running, you might want to find another place to do that during western North Carolina deer season. I was up there around Sept 1st and didn't hear or see anyone until 5 min before checkout time when I met the housekeeper at the end of the driveway as I was leaving. Again, this place is absolutely secluded and beautiful."

  • Beautiful location, all you could need, super helpful owner

"This cabin is a gem! It's in a beautiful location and well-maintained. Everything you could think of was supplied in the cabin, particularly the kitchen. We stayed in for most meals and cooked and enjoyed dinner on the big front porch. My dog loved laying on the porch too! Beth was so friendly and helpful too. We loved it up there so much that we ended up staying an extra day. We enjoyed visiting Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson and the Cascades Trail and ran the High Country Half Marathon. We'll definitely be back!"

  • Just what the doctor ordered

"This place was amazing. It was clean and had everything we needed if we just wanted to stay there the entire time. The house was right on the river so my son was able just to go tubing right in the backyard. We even caught a few trout in the evenings. Our dogs were thrilled to be able to swim in the backyard. We loved that the house was restored and kept the features of its original state. It was not swamped with tourist and you are twenty minutes away from anything you need. We were close to state parks and kayaking and tubing places which we went each day to fish. This place is a treat!"

  • Wonderful home for children/large group

"This is wonderful home to stay at with children! The large porch is screened and safe for small children, and the bedrooms are large with plenty of play space for the kids. The house was very clean and comfortable. Montreat is a wonderful place for family vacations. The playground is a wooded area with streams for kids to splash in (even with the cool October water!) We look forward to repeat visits to this home!"
