"We chose this cabin for its seclusion and it exceeded our expectations in that regard. We never left the property for 3 days and never saw anyone else except for the property manager who made sure we were comfortable. The thermostat is locked and the cabin was too cool for us so we called him. He came quickly and adjusted the temperature. He even called us the next morning to make sure the temp was OK.
As others have said the old highway is just across the river and on weekdays there were many large dump trucks traveling the road all day which we could hear from the cabin but only for a few seconds each time.
The cabin was comfortable for two but if anyone slept in the upstairs loft there is no privacy; those rooms are open to the kitchen/living room below. The bed on the first floor was comfortable. No comment on the pillows as we brought our own. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and utensils. The futon in the photos has been replaced by a leather sofa with two built-in reclining seats which are great for napping. Both bathrooms are quite small but adequate. The shower is tiny. Wifi was useful and we could get a weak cell signal outdoors (Verizon).
Our favorite feature is the river next to the cabin. You can hear the sound of the rapids all day and night. The water is crystal clear and we spent hours exploring up and down the river. Every few yards there is another small waterfall. We enjoyed hiking upstream but be careful as some of the rocks are very slippery and we came away with some minor scrapes and bruises. The water is cool and refreshing."

"I am late writing this review, we stayed here almost a year ago (Sep 2014). First off, the owner was great and friendly to communicate with. The cabin is very charming and cute. Wonderful views as well. We were looking for a very remote cabin and felt like this would set the bar high judging from the pictures and description. After the long exciting drive in we noticed as we pulled up there is another house the sets approx. 100 yards from the one pictured. We didn't realize or expect to see that, kinda surprised but happy it was vacant at that present time. We stayed for 2 nights, and had the mountain top to ourselves on night 1. It was very peaceful and the extra house wasn't an issue being it was vacant. The 2nd day the owner came up for a nights stay. Although she is very respectful of your privacy it would've been nice to of known of this ahead of time. You're close enough to see and hear each other so it wasn't the privacy we were looking for. If you are looking for total privacy, this would be nice to know. Otherwise it's a great place. Also, you can make this drive in a 2wd pickup no problem."

"We had two families that shared this cabin for a weekend getaway. Plenty of room. The view was awesome. We did a tub river ride down the Yadkin River at Foothills Outdoor Adventures. Would definitely stay here again."
