"We spent a month here and loved every minute of our stay. It was the most relaxing vacation we have been on. The house was perfect with everything you could possibly need. The surrounding area was great for dog walking at the Reservoir and the Greenway, hiking at Stone Mountain Park,, golf at Brushy Mountain and Lenoir, going to the YMCA, fishing, and playing tourist. The Wilkesboro Museum is worth seeing too. Such fun!!"

"Was very quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Boone, blowing rock, grandfather mountain, Parkway and quaint towns just minutes away. Will definitely want to go back."

  • Mountain Vacation Perfection

"Don't miss this one....this cabin is directly adjacent to the most PERFECT stream you will ever encounter - deep pools, waterfalls and accessible by foot, just a 30 second walk from the cabin - what a property! Our family enjoyed this mountain retreat for 4 days and 3 nights in March 2015. The cabin is larger than it appears in the photos, and the extra-wide deck overlooking the stream is amazing - it had an umbrella-covered outdoor table, where we had our evening meal every night, complete with patio lights clipped onto the umbrella - very nice as it became dark. The outdoor fire pit was a major highlight of the trip - we had a fire every night, with S'mores, hot dogs, stories and pure enjoyment of this thoughtful feature. There was some firewood provided - even kindling and small branches - but my son also brought his ax and splitting wedge, making even more firewood from cut trunk pieces that were provided in a pile down the hill from the cabin. The porch swing was a big hit for the grandchildren, ages 5, 3 & 1. There's a gate at the steps entrance to the porch/deck, which provided safety for the little ones to roam on the large porch/deck. The kitchen is extremely well equipped - just bring paper towels and toilet paper. There is plenty of cabinet space - no automatic dishwasher, but every other convenience is there. How nice to have a washer & dryer with this cabin, essential with little ones. The cabin was very clean and easy to keep clean. Towels & linens are provided, though you will have to make-up your beds when you arrive, and wash/fold all linens & towels before you leave. Although we were only in the foothills, the property is so secluded, it felt as though we were deeply placed into the wilderness. There is a road just across the stream, but otherwise, we loved the privacy. The mile-long driveway is a single lane, gravel road, with some curves and hills, but if carefully driven, it's not a problem. The manager of the property, Brent, came by on our last day & is a great guy - loved to be sure the guests were having a good time and had everything they needed. Quang (one of the owners) answered all my pre-trip questions and was quick to email or call me when needed. We sent our rental payment through Pay Pal - extra convenient! Our family will definitely make this a vacation destination from now on - we hope to have a lifetime of memories for our children and grandchildren at this cabin. Thanks to the owners for this place!!"

"Let me first say that this is my second review, and justly-so considering the importance of peer reviews in our world today. Once again, this amazing log home on the lake failed to disappoint. We decided to go a little early this year, and April surprised us with low 80's temps and amazing sunshine. We didn't partake in lake activities this time instead choosing to venture out on longer road trips. And the home, mountains and sites brought fantastic enjoyment and lasting memories as usual. Speaking of peer reviews, we used sites like Google and Yelp to gauge activities and dining without any guesswork. Blowing Rock has stellar cuisine at an affordable price, where as Ashville has stellar cuisine at stellar prices! Zip lining, vineyard tours, waterfall hiking, scenic drives on the Blue Ridge and Tail of the Dragon, and breath-taking views and experiences around every bend has us wanting to schedule another trip this same year! The relaxation and tranquility from comfort, floor plan, fireplace, lake side views and amenities can't be conveyed fully in this review. I woke up early every morning (as if for work), but to see the sunrise on the lake - through the the Master bdrm. patio doors - from my bed - and I was 100% glad to be awake at 6 am on my vacation! All jokes aside, I will be trying to book another week this year... Enjoy, John"
