Recent Blue Ridge Mountains reviews

"We have made several trips to the Boone area, but this was our first stay in the winter. This cabin is in a perfect central location with easy access to multiple ski resorts. The cabin was clean and well stocked. After a long day of skiing, we enjoyed being able to come to a warm cozy cabin with air hockey for entertaining children and a well stocked library of books for all ages. Next time we make a winter trip to the Boone area, we hope your cabin will be available."

  • Our Trip

"My family, wife and I, 3 girls (14,17,18) had a wonderful time here. We went to Asheville one day, about a 45 minute windy drive. Watched the World Cup soccer because the cabin did not have ESPN, surprising. Chimney Rock is 10 minutes away and has lots of good hiking trails, we all liked that. We went to the Linville Caverns, 1 hour away, which was fun and then went to the Linville Falls which was very close. Good hiking and cool waterfalls. Best part of the trip was going to Saluda and Green River Adventures to do white water rafting. Much fun. The cabin has everything you need."

  • Excellent Mountain Getaway

"My family stayed at the Highlander Cabin recently for a family wedding. The cabin was wonderful, 5 bedrooms, clean, scenic and safe. The property was well-maintained and the information/photos clearly represented the cabin. Any questions we had were quickly answered. I would definitely recommend this property as a place to stay if visiting the area!!"

  • Octoberfest was AWESOME from this place!

"We spent the weekend in this gem of a place and enjoyed watching the visitors come up the ski lift just outside and walk back down the mountain to the festivities. It was a wonderful weekend and the hiking was better than expected."

Blue Ridge Mountains Travel Tips

Book Blue Ridge Mountain Cabins for the Best Time Ever

Though they are part of the Appalachian Mountains, the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina can truly stand on their own. Breathtaking and majestic, once you step into the crisp air, you will surely want to book Blue Ridge Mountain cabins year after year. Blue Ridge Mountains resorts make for the perfect getaways for the whole family. Whether you book Blue Ridge Mountains vacation rentals in the Shenandoah (to the north) or in the Great Smoky Mountains (to the south), you will have the time of your life.

Skiing at Blue Ridge Mountains Vacation Rentals

For the last few decades, Blue Ridge Mountains resorts have become quite well-known for their skiing. A majority of Blue Ridge Mountains vacation rentals are designed just for skiers these days, many of which hail from the north. In recent years, it has become well-known that there is plenty of snowfall near most Blue Ridge Mountain cabins, making for great ski vacations. This comes as a surprise to many people; in the summer, you'll find 90-degree weather and palm trees just a short drive from the mountains.

Summertime at Blue Ridge Mountains Resorts

Though you may be thinking of planning a winter getaway to the Blue Ridge Mountains cabins, the summer offers plenty to tempt you to North Carolina. Spend long, lazy days swimming, boating and fishing at Lake Lure vacation rentals. The mountains offer plenty of opportunities for hiking and mountian biking, and just a short drive away from most Blue Ridge Mountains vacation rentals lie some of North Carolina’s beautiful beaches.

Blowing Rock near Blue Ridge Mountain Cabins

For a bit of Native American lore during your stay in Blue Ridge Mountains resorts, be sure to visit Blowing Rock, just off of Highway 321 South. Blowing Rock is the state’s oldest attraction and it offers a very scenic experience including a waterfall, gardens, and an observation tower. It is truly a magical place said to be where star-crossed lovers, a Chickasaw maiden and a Cherokee brave, met and fell in love.
