  • Midwestern family enjoys the ocean

"The condo was very clean and well appointed which was very important to me. The owner was easy to work with and responded promptly to questions. We spent about equal time at the pool and the beach. The property sits so your view is perpendicular to the beach so couldn't really view the ocean well from the condo but that really wasn't a problem for us because we preferred to take the easy walk and be on the actual beach and play in the ocean - tons of fun boogy-boarding and collecting shells. We also saw a person successfully paddle boarding on the surf. I was curious what the floor of the ocean would feel like (rocky, muddy, seaweedy) but it was none of those. It was lovely soft sand."

  • Our second summer in this cottage, look forward to our third!

"We have rented this cottage for the last two summers and we love it! The house is so comfortable, well maintained, on the beach, and working with the owner is so easy. The location is a short walk to several places to eat, close to biking and jogging trails, and it is right on the beach over the dunes. We spent many nights on the deck after grilling fish (from the close by fish market) listening to the surf and enjoying the stars. The beach is wonderful as well - good waves and warm (but refreshing) water. We already look forward to our next visit next summer."

"Recently got back from the beach and this place was amazing. It was within a short driving distance from anywhere we were wanting to go. The condo is right on the beach. Not at all much of a walking distance to experience the beautiful ocean! The home is extremely clean and well taken care of! This place is amazing!!!! Very easy owners to work with also. I definitely want to go back here! Thank you for the wonderful experience!"

Enjoy All the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum

Carving wooden decoy ducks has been a past time of the people of Harkers Island for generations. Guests that stay in the Harkers Island vacation homes during December have a great chance to enjoy the Core Sound Decoy Festival and Waterfowl Weekend.
