"This very well-designed summer home was nicely furnished and appointed and very well-equipped in all regards, including the kitchen and its appliances, the clothes washer and dryer, the two bathrooms, dvd player and TVs, as well as the outdoor ground floor shower and fish cleaning station, which unfortunately we never had occasion to use. The screened porch provided an additional nice space for fresh air during some colossally inclement weather. The location is superb, being only a short walk from the ocean beach, and an easy walk from a bike rental shop, an ice cream shop, a kind of general store, the US Post Office, a delicatessen, and a fish store that was closed due to the lateness of the season during our visit. The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a great time, despite some wild, windy, and occasionally very wet weather that stirred the ocean into a somewhat turbulent and menacing state. Although we did not swim in the ocean, we did a lot of barefoot walking in and out of the ocean surf at numerous places along the National Seashore, rode bikes down to the Salvo sound-side park and beach, and enjoyed numerous longer trips to the Pea Island refuge, different lighthouses, the Wright Brothers museum to the north, and to the Weather Station and Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in Hatteras Village. From our explorations from Hatteras Village to the Kill Devil Hills, we concluded that this VRBO home was for us in the very best location on the Outer Banks. We would happily recommend this VRBO to anyone."
