  • Had a great stay in OBX again!

"Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, let me say we were very impressed with Paramount. Loved having the app for check in and work orders. They were very helpful throughout booking, as well. Have booked our annual vacation through another company for years, but will likely stick with Paramount as this year went so well. We loved staying in the Currituck Club; the amenities are so nice with small children. However, we did notice there seemed to be fewer trolleys and we regularly waited almost an hour at our stop, which has never happened before. We liked the house a lot, and it was in very good condition. Several light bulbs were out, but that's no big deal. Our only issues were with road noise -- it's pretty loud and steady if you're outside. Not an issue inside. We've even stayed on Currituck Cay before and not had an issue, but this house is right at Rt. 12. Also, the beds are weird -- very firm (I would call them hard), and they seem oddly sized. There were supposed to be two queens, but we have a queen at home, and my husband and I were much closer together here. The other bed was a double. The "king" seemed like our queen at home. The downstairs bedrooms are very small, so bigger beds wouldn't fit, but still, don't advertise what you don't have. Otherwise, the house is well-equipped. The pool is great, as is the outdoor shower, and we loved having the grill right off the upper deck."

  • Best in 30+ Years at Corolla

"My family has been coming to the Whalehead Beach area in Corolla for more than 30 years, and I can't remember a nicer house than this one. The beds were unbelievably comfortable! The layout is thoughtful, the furnishings are tasteful and the appliances are new and in perfect working order. Everything worked! This house has the hallmark of owners who care and are involved in the beach house, and that has obviously made the house as appealing as it is. I am an early riser and especially liked taking one of the grandchidren on a morning walk to the Food Lion or one of the coffee shops around the corner: donuts for the kids, coffee for grandpa."

  • Wonderful Property for family reunions

"Our family of 11 arrived from all over to spend a week together. This home was perfect. It had all of the amenities that anyone could possibly need. The kitchen was well stocked with just about everything in the line of cookware and dishes. The two refrigerators in the kitchen were great. They never ran out of ice either. There was also another fridge in the lower level. Everyone in our group made comment about how comfortable the beds were. We all slept very well. We had vollleyball games using the court in the side yard as well as the bag toss game. The beach is only a short walk from the front door. The beach is private so there were no crowds at all. The water was warm and just rough enough to give all of us good exercise. In the evening when it is dark it is worth the walk back to the beach with flashlights to watch the crabs running around on the sandbar. They are small crabs and not the kind you would eat but it was fun watching them run away when the light hit them. We brought all kinds of items to go crabbing but all you really need is a string and a chicken drumstick tied to it. We caught more crabs with that then the trap and string is cheap. One of our group went fishing at the beach and caught a bucket of fish. He had a great time. Friends had told us before we went that the drinking water is not good. That is not true the water was just fine. We had use of the golf cart. That was the greatest. I would not hesitate to rent this home again. It is in a perfect location and has everything one could ask for. Sherri is a great landlord and even calls to make sure everything is OK while you are there. If we went again we would plan to arrive late in the day after 7pm. The traffic is horrible with everyone arriving at OBX around the same time. Part of our group arrived around 7:30 and had no traffic at all where we spent over 2 hours just trying to get on the island. Don't even give a second thought about renting this home. It is perfect in every way, close to the lighthouse, stores, beach and horse country."

  • Castle by the Sea

"My wife and I spent a relaxing week here recently - we would not hesitate to come back in the future. Located on a nice stretch of Whalehead Beach, the house offers incredible ocean views from the upper level rooms and the large decks. The centerpiece of our week however, was the pool area. A multilevel design with beautiful tile work, a waterfall and wading pool (for the little ones you may have) made it a fabulous place to hang out. A large well-located hot tub provides a relaxing way to wrap up the day. The only caveat I'll mention is that, like most rental properties, the house has seen some wear and tear. Any issues we had were trivial and far outweighed by our overall experience. Bill, the owner, was very responsive to our questions and was a delight to work with. We're looking forward to a return visit."
