"We had a great week in your beautiful home with 4 families and perfect accommodations for all 18 of us. The kitchen was well equipped, the layout of the house was perfect to give everyone plenty of room and the pool, hot tub, decks, hammock and new bench on the top deck this year were all awesome. Any chance of a propane grill for next year? We love your house! PS...Elan Vacations were AWESOME! Carolyn and Stacy were able to get us into the house extra early which was a blessing since we had both a 1 and a 3 year old. This little extra touch added so much to our 1st day there. Kudos to Elan!!!"

  • Outer Banks 2014

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We very much enjoyed Kara's Sandcastle! The property was clean and included everything we needed to have a restful and relaxing week. We especially liked the dog run although our Fred was a little shy about going down it on his own. Another week or so and he would have been very comfortable going it alone. The only negative comment was that our key was not in the lock box when we arrived late Saturday evening. We had to wait a while for someone to drive it to us because the traffic was so insane coming into the Outer Banks this year. We still can't figure out why? In the twenty years we have been coming, we have never experienced traffic like it before. The lock box does make check in and out much easier and quicker, if it is there upon check in."

  • Wonderful Sibling Getaway

"We rented Flip Flops for a long Labor Day weekend reunion for four adult siblings and had a wonderful and relaxing trip. The house was very spacious, and could have easily accommodated twice our number. We spent every day at the beach, and were very happy that the beach chairs, cooler, and other beach amenities were included in the rental. (The beach itself was also very nice and never too crowded.) We cooked in the kitchen every night as well, which was well-stocked with all of the necessary supplies. The location is great for a quiet and relaxing weekend - its a short drive to grocery stores, restaurants, etc, but set off in a quiet neighborhood area without too much noise or traffic. We had a fantastic trip, and would definitely recommend Flip Flops as a great location for a relaxing beach getaway!"

  • Perfect Location, Perfect Vacation

"What a great vacation our family enjoyed in your super home! It suited our needs perfectly from the multiple bedrooms and baths to the generously appointed kitchen. The nearness to the beautiful beach and on-location swimming pool was ideal for our family(s). Other pluses included the front porch swing, outside shower, hot tub and wireless access. Hurricane Arthur was not much of a threat as there was no damage that we could see and no loss of power. Although there was lots of wind and rain we were still able to use the pool in the afternoon before we left. We tried to leave the place in good shape and see that nothing was overlooked as we prepared to leave. We're already talking about a possible return trip next summer."
