  • Great vacation at Dune Alright!

"Returned from another great time at Dune Alright in Corolla, NC. Tried to get in before the summer folks to experience Corolla in a different season. We were not disappointed! We were often the only ones on the beach. House is stellar and owner has updated (again!) since the last time we were there with modern updates in kitchen and pristine new furniture. Restaurant/food options took a little more research during off-season, but as long as you know what's open when, there is never a bad time on this beach. Kids loved the Wildlife Education Center and flying kites on the beach. Parents loved the wild horses."

  • Awesome memories were made!

"Good morning Maurice, I finally have a minute to sit down and say thank you again for opening your home for our family vacation – we really enjoyed the trip. As you know it was our first trip to the OBX and it didn’t disappoint. The house was wonderful and I’m so happy that we chose Corolla for our location, I don’t think we could have ended up in a better spot for a first trip. The house setup and location worked perfect for our group. Access to the beach was very easy and quick and the beaches were great in that area. We cooked out several nights and spent many hours in the pool and hot tub. We hit several of the restaurants in the area including the pizza parlor, sooies bbq, ice cream and the lighthouse deli. The guys were able to get out and play a round of golf at the Currituck Club which was awesome – what a great course. We also enjoyed several games on the basketball court and loved the entrance to the house with the nice long driveway and off the main road – perfect for kids. The house was great and very accommodating – it felt like a home once we settled in. It had everything we needed from plates, cups, and silverware to blenders, spices, and toys. We loved all the natural light and the evening views of the golf course from the deck. The t.v in each room was also helpful with the kids. We loved that the entire group could hang out upstairs together – that was basically the main social gathering area as you probably know. We also got to make a drive towards Hatteras – it was beautiful down there and next time I think we have to rent a jeep so we can get out on the beaches!"

  • One of the best family cottages in the Outer Banks

"Our family has been going to the Outer Banks for almost 15 years, and rented many cottages. This cottage was clearly the best we have ever stayed in! A great location, a wonderful pool with outdoor speakers, and the house was packed with toys, games, books, and things for family members of all ages to enjoy, even those who like to cook - as the kitchen, unlike many barren cottages you can rent, had a huge variety of utensils and even a stocked spice cabinet! Every room was very well decorated, and it was obvious the pride and work the owners take in their cottage. This is the place for us from now on."

  • Would definitely return!

"A dozen college graduates in one big house ... needless to say, we had an amazing time! Alan was so helpful in the leasing process, which is usually difficult or impossible for vacation-goers under 25 years old. Not only was there plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, it was also perfectly located near all of our necessities. We went to Harris Teeter nearly daily (walking distance) and woke up every morning to stroll down to the beach. After spending the day there (beautiful, clean, peaceful), we grilled or went out to eat and then spent the evening in the backyard pool and hot tub! Karaoke night at the local bar was so much fun, and the cab is $15 flat rate. We had a fantastic post-graduation trip, but I could also see this being the perfect vacation for a big family."
