  • Amazing getaway

"We had an amazing time! Perfect house and plenty of room. The dogs had a blast at the beach and the views watching the sunrise in the am was beautiful. The owners were right on every morning we watched dolphins from the top deck with our coffee! We are definitely putting this house on the list to come back to!:)"

  • Picture perfect family vacation

"My family and friends rented this beautiful beachhouse for the week before my 31st birthday. The area had just encountered Hurricane Arthur and was still in the midst of cleanup. There were minor issues with flooding and some electrical appliances. The owner was in contact with us during the repairs and replacement of all the issues in a very timely manner. Within 24 hours of check in all was staged for the perfect week. I had an 8 and 5 year old who fell in love with the yard and hammocks under the deck where they would swing the afternoons away following a gorgeous beach day. The hot tub on the deck was a dream to relax in as the guys on the trip had enough room on the deck to play cornhole tournaments in the evenings as the sun set behind us. All in all it was a great addition to treasured memoreis the family will remember for a lifetime."

  • What a FUN house!

"We stayed in "The Big House" for a family reunion; my wife and I, and our 2 daughters and sons-in-law. We had a great time. We all really loved the house, and especially enjoyed the "scenic" walk from the driveway. Every time we made that walk, we discovered something new! We also loved having our own "disco", by turning off all the lights, except the ones on the disco balls! Love the screened in porch with the hammock and the swing; there was always a nice breeze there. View from the upper balcony overlooking the sound is spectacular, especially at sunset. We had a great time exploring the Outer Banks, as well. Following are must do's (In no particular order): Get an ugly at the Orange Blossom Cafe in Buxton Take an nap in the hammock in the screened in porch Have dinner at Cafe Pamlico (at the Inn) in Buxton Go kayaking/SUP/sailing/wave running at Hatteras Watersports in Salvo (so much cheaper than anywhere else, and a nice property on the sound) Play golf at Nags Head Golf Links (Bring plenty of golf balls!) Use the supplied beach umbrella/beach chairs early and often (at the beach!) Have dinner while watching the sunset from the upper balcony Take the ferry and spend a day on Ocracoke. Tour a lighthouse (the one in Buxton is the tallest; it's like walking up 12 stories) Eat at Rustys in Buxton Eat at Ketch 55 in Avon Get a pizza from Gidgets in Avon Get ice cream at Cup and Cone in Avon (you can probably get one to share for two or three!) Walk on the beach at night, and see LOTS of sand crabs and stars And, if you get bored, try to figure out what the 40+ light switches in the main room do!"

Edenton Travel Tips

Edenton Beach House Rentals: Fine Old-South Living

North Carolina's coastline is one of the most beautiful places in the United States. Travelers flock to this coast by the thousands each year to enjoy the majestic scenery, pristine beaches, and remnants of the Old South. There's no place more reminiscent of the Colonial South than Edenton. Considered the South's prettiest small town, Edenton rests along the shores of Albemarle Sound. When visiting, Edenton beach house rentals will meet lodging needs in an extraordinary way. Edenton homes are quaint bungalows and historic homes that adhere to the Victorian and Greek-revival architecture so commonly found about this wondrous village. The former Colonial Capital of North Carolina, Edenton's small-town feel is accentuated by its plantation homes and Civil War history.

History Thrives in Edenton

Walking through history is easy around Edenton homes. Seek out the Historic Edenton Visitor's Center, located in the Ziegler House, erected in 1892. After viewing a short program on Edenton's roots, stroll through exhibits before stopping in the gift shop for a pamphlet to help locate other historic sites in town. The Cupola house has called North Carolina's shores its home since 1758, when it was built by Francis Corbin. Since that time, it's been home to a tea room, museum, and library. Standing tall since 1782, the Barker House is open for public tours with staff on-hand to answer any questions.

A Paddler's Paradise Near Edenton

Surrounded by water, Edenton beach house rentals are near ample boating opportunities. Alligator River Canoe and Small Boat Trail is a portion of the Albemarle Region Canoe and Small Boat Trails System. This winding stream takes boaters through postcard-perfect forests and marshes. With three different sections, this trail offers paddlers short or long excursions. An Old-South retreat waits at the end of the day at Outer Banks vacation rentals, where travelers feel right at home.
