  • really nice house on northern part of hatteras island

"We're used to dumpy old houses on hatteras but this one is like a diamond in the rough. its in the older subdivision of course but this one is quite luxurious and cool inside. beach is nice and clean here, plenty of space here don't have to worry about storms washing this area away like in some other areas. fishing was fantastic here, we definitely recommend doing a charter boat out in the ocean!"

  • Great Deal, Great Location

"1/2 the money of oceanfront across the street from private access. Great views, contemporary and bright inside, working central air, convenient outdoor shower so you don't track sand into the house. This is important since this is a 'self-clean' house, and you want to keep the mess to a minimum so you don't spend your whole last morning cleaning. Personally I would have preferred to pay for a cleaning service, but it is made completely clear that you're on your own. Accomodating & friendly owner-operators, you don't have to go to some manager's office during office hours to get keys. Sunday-to-Sunday avoids the traffic on Saturday turn day (though even the Saturday traffic wasn't as bad as expected). As noted, house is bright and modern inside, you can find wear if you look with some of the personal property but you've got what you need and whatever else you get from K-Mart walking distance away. The house is really at a perfect standard for a beach house, you don't have to wear white gloves. Since the public beach access is some ways down, this stretch of beach is not very crowded and there are no condos, hotels, or apartments right here. Pretty much all the surrounding houses are seasonal rentals, too, so the beach is populated by other families on vacation - really quite pleasant. As is typical, you do not have access to the garage but there is covered parking for 2 cars plus the driveway. So no complaints and we'll certainly look this place up the next time we decide to drive cross-country. Thanks."

  • Great location for Marathon weekend!

"Brian, We had a great time at the Pirates Cove Penthouse Condo this weekend! The location was perfect for the OBX Marathon! From the moment we arrived, I could feel my stress level dropping. I really appreciate you working with me with my last minute questions and request. There ended up being the perfect amount of space for the six of us. Also, the Pirates Cove staff was very responsive to our needs. I just want to add that you have some world-class neighbors. My parents (in their 70s) arrived before us and had a problem with their minivan. One of your neighbors called up his boys, and they got out there to push the car into a parking spot until AAA arrived! The only regret I have about the whole experience is that we could not stay longer. Thanks again, Pete"

  • Perfect vacation spot!

"One Particular Harbor was such a great place to stay on our recent mini vacation trip to Corolla, NC!! It was everything we could have wanted. The description of the place was spot on. There wasn't anything that was missing for us...all we had to bring were the bath towels and beach towels. The distance to the beach is a short 5 minute walk. The pool and hot tub were our favorite hang out spots. Everything was very clean and easy to find. The owner was very easy to work with and booked us on relatively short notice! We brought our dog with us and she loved the house too. Nobody wanted to leave at the end of our trip but c'est la vie! Thanks again for allowing us to stay at One particular harbor - we made some great and lasting memories!"

Edenton Travel Tips

Edenton Beach House Rentals: Fine Old-South Living

North Carolina's coastline is one of the most beautiful places in the United States. Travelers flock to this coast by the thousands each year to enjoy the majestic scenery, pristine beaches, and remnants of the Old South. There's no place more reminiscent of the Colonial South than Edenton. Considered the South's prettiest small town, Edenton rests along the shores of Albemarle Sound. When visiting, Edenton beach house rentals will meet lodging needs in an extraordinary way. Edenton homes are quaint bungalows and historic homes that adhere to the Victorian and Greek-revival architecture so commonly found about this wondrous village. The former Colonial Capital of North Carolina, Edenton's small-town feel is accentuated by its plantation homes and Civil War history.

History Thrives in Edenton

Walking through history is easy around Edenton homes. Seek out the Historic Edenton Visitor's Center, located in the Ziegler House, erected in 1892. After viewing a short program on Edenton's roots, stroll through exhibits before stopping in the gift shop for a pamphlet to help locate other historic sites in town. The Cupola house has called North Carolina's shores its home since 1758, when it was built by Francis Corbin. Since that time, it's been home to a tea room, museum, and library. Standing tall since 1782, the Barker House is open for public tours with staff on-hand to answer any questions.

A Paddler's Paradise Near Edenton

Surrounded by water, Edenton beach house rentals are near ample boating opportunities. Alligator River Canoe and Small Boat Trail is a portion of the Albemarle Region Canoe and Small Boat Trails System. This winding stream takes boaters through postcard-perfect forests and marshes. With three different sections, this trail offers paddlers short or long excursions. An Old-South retreat waits at the end of the day at Outer Banks vacation rentals, where travelers feel right at home.
