  • Perfection!

"The Dolphin Inn is a very fun and family-friendly vacation home. It's close to the beach, but you don't even need to leave to have a great time! The private pool, free Netflix, and volleyball court in the back yard kept us thoroughly entertained. We slept great each night in the comfy beds with mattress toppers...after winding down in the hot tub of course! But perhaps the best part of our experience was working with the owners. We have never dealt with more sincerely kind hearted people in all our years of coming to the Outer Banks. We're so glad we are part of the Dolphin Inn family!"

  • Great Family Vacation

"We had a great family vacation in this sound front home. The views were amazing and we spent every morning and every evening on the upper deck enjoying the views and beautiful sunsets. The pool and hot tub were fabulous and got plenty of use. We only had one issue with the place and that was a broken table by the pool when we arrived, but one call to the management company and it was taken care of immediately. The owner is very accommodating and easy to work with. The location and resort amenities are an added benefit that was much appreciated by our whole family, we had a superb family vacation at this home."

  • Great property & Great location & Best Owners

"I'd first like to state that Kay & her husband are the most accommodating with regards to inquiries or issues that may arise (we didn't have any). The property was beautiful and spacious with a very open concept feel. My 5 year old daughter just loved it and the rest of my family enjoyed it just as much. Located between the sound and the beach within minutes of both by foot or transportation. Shops & local jewels are also within minutes of driving. Crabbing @ Whalehead is a must but be sure to go when the tide is high and bring nets. The cage thing didn't work too well for us as we preferred the method of string tied to chicken pieces. Nets will be of valuable asset! Anyhow to sum it all up, the property was beautiful, owner's are amazing, and community clubhouse and pool were great as well. We look to return next year as well. Thanks again Kay! !"

  • Ending our summer with a great time

"This year has been our third trip to this property. The property is updated and very comfortable. Our family looks forward to every trip and actually stay in the same rooms each trip, it feels somewhat like going home. Love the pool and hot tub. It's close to the beach and the location for shopping is perfect. There is plenty of room to spread out or be alone. We use the volleyball court a lot. We are an active bunch. I know we will be back in the future. I recommend this house to anyone looking for a good time at the beach."

Edenton Travel Tips

Edenton Beach House Rentals: Fine Old-South Living

North Carolina's coastline is one of the most beautiful places in the United States. Travelers flock to this coast by the thousands each year to enjoy the majestic scenery, pristine beaches, and remnants of the Old South. There's no place more reminiscent of the Colonial South than Edenton. Considered the South's prettiest small town, Edenton rests along the shores of Albemarle Sound. When visiting, Edenton beach house rentals will meet lodging needs in an extraordinary way. Edenton homes are quaint bungalows and historic homes that adhere to the Victorian and Greek-revival architecture so commonly found about this wondrous village. The former Colonial Capital of North Carolina, Edenton's small-town feel is accentuated by its plantation homes and Civil War history.

History Thrives in Edenton

Walking through history is easy around Edenton homes. Seek out the Historic Edenton Visitor's Center, located in the Ziegler House, erected in 1892. After viewing a short program on Edenton's roots, stroll through exhibits before stopping in the gift shop for a pamphlet to help locate other historic sites in town. The Cupola house has called North Carolina's shores its home since 1758, when it was built by Francis Corbin. Since that time, it's been home to a tea room, museum, and library. Standing tall since 1782, the Barker House is open for public tours with staff on-hand to answer any questions.

A Paddler's Paradise Near Edenton

Surrounded by water, Edenton beach house rentals are near ample boating opportunities. Alligator River Canoe and Small Boat Trail is a portion of the Albemarle Region Canoe and Small Boat Trails System. This winding stream takes boaters through postcard-perfect forests and marshes. With three different sections, this trail offers paddlers short or long excursions. An Old-South retreat waits at the end of the day at Outer Banks vacation rentals, where travelers feel right at home.
