  • Memorial Day Stay

"Wonderful property. The apartment was exactly as advertised and pictured. My girlfriend and I spent a great Memorial Day Weekend at the beach and really felt at home in the apartment. Would also probably work for two couples, but would be a bit small if more than that. Good location, just across the street from the beach. Only issue with Beach Klub has somewhat odd hours/availability. Overall, really enjoyed our stay at The Green Room."

  • Excellent location, great property, Deckdaze is a dream!

"I can only say great things about this property! Located off of a quiet neighborhood street in Avon, but an *excellent* location for both beach and soundside access and grocery and dining, this beach house has it all! This well-maintained property was just the perfect beach getaway for this family. The owner was beyond helpful with any questions or concerns that we had. This was my first visit to the Outer Banks, and we really enjoyed it and all that the immediate area had to offer. If I ever stay in Avon again, I would definitely choose Deckdaze again!"

  • What a FUN house!

"We stayed in "The Big House" for a family reunion; my wife and I, and our 2 daughters and sons-in-law. We had a great time. We all really loved the house, and especially enjoyed the "scenic" walk from the driveway. Every time we made that walk, we discovered something new! We also loved having our own "disco", by turning off all the lights, except the ones on the disco balls! Love the screened in porch with the hammock and the swing; there was always a nice breeze there. View from the upper balcony overlooking the sound is spectacular, especially at sunset. We had a great time exploring the Outer Banks, as well. Following are must do's (In no particular order): Get an ugly at the Orange Blossom Cafe in Buxton Take an nap in the hammock in the screened in porch Have dinner at Cafe Pamlico (at the Inn) in Buxton Go kayaking/SUP/sailing/wave running at Hatteras Watersports in Salvo (so much cheaper than anywhere else, and a nice property on the sound) Play golf at Nags Head Golf Links (Bring plenty of golf balls!) Use the supplied beach umbrella/beach chairs early and often (at the beach!) Have dinner while watching the sunset from the upper balcony Take the ferry and spend a day on Ocracoke. Tour a lighthouse (the one in Buxton is the tallest; it's like walking up 12 stories) Eat at Rustys in Buxton Eat at Ketch 55 in Avon Get a pizza from Gidgets in Avon Get ice cream at Cup and Cone in Avon (you can probably get one to share for two or three!) Walk on the beach at night, and see LOTS of sand crabs and stars And, if you get bored, try to figure out what the 40+ light switches in the main room do!"

  • Great week!

"The Carolina Clipper provided our extended family a wonderful week of fun and relaxation. The home was spacious, clean and a very well supplied kitchen with everything you could need to prepare a feast every day. There was plenty of bathroom space for a large group. We had great space to gather as a family as well as retreat to privacy when wanted. We watched every sunrise either from the captain's watch or on the beach just a short walk out the door. We watched the dolphins, played games, read on the deck, played in the waves, walked the beach, visited local restaurants and places of historical significance, took hang gliding lessons, etc. The beach was beautiful and the waves very fun without anything hurting your feet. There are many, many things nearby to explore: eating, hang gliding, various water sports, shopping, strolling through quaint towns, etc. Above everything, the owner Jim was great to deal with. Very patient with questions, quick to answer and happy to give suggestions to make your stay the best it can be. We loved our stay in Outer Banks and would go back to the Carolina Clipper if ever traveling there again. Our group ranged from age 17-86 and was perfect for all."
