  • Perfect Home for a Wonderful Vacation!

"This home was designed with our perfect vacation in mind! There were 3 families; all wanted to be together but still have the ability to have private time...this home allowed for just that! It has 3 stories and lots to do for all ages...a game of pool, some poker, board games, snacking, cooking in the well stocked kitchen, reading on the deck, napping in a hammock, lounging in the pool, playing with pool toys, walking on the beach, making a campfire and sand castles on the beach....and we could even stay in touch with work with internet! (Somehow, working while looking outside at the beautiful views seems a lot less like work). Thanks for having a home that is so well stocked, so beautifully decorated, and available to us for some great family time. Great place!!"

  • Exceptional Is An Understatement!

"Words cannot adequately express how exceptional this fabulous home is and how "perfect" our family vacation turned out to be. Not only is it conveniently located -- a quick walk to the beach, restaurants, Dairy Queen, fruit markets and the like -- but all of the amenities make it easy to stay put and enjoy all there is to offer! The kitchen is equipped with every appliance and utensil you could possibly need and the dishes, flatware, mixing bowls, casserole dishes etc. are plentiful. The convenience and size of the pool and hot tub, make it comfortable for any age and any number. We had 22 in our family group! The home has a large gathering space with plenty of seating -- on the main level (level 3) as well as a pool table on the first floor and lots of games, cards and pool toys for the kids. I especially liked the convenience of being able to hose off our sandy feet before entering the house. Even the deck and pool seating was comfortable and more than enough to accommodate our group. The only thing I would suggest, is making it known, up front, that linens are not provided and sheets and towels need to be either brought from home, or rented. However, the Shore Details organization they use for this service is extremely helpful and cooperative. The price is very reasonable as well, but it would have been helpful to know that in advance. In any event, everything from my initial phone call, to our departure was better than I would have expected!!! And the Friday to Friday rental is the best way to go!!! No long traffic lines coming or going. This will be a memorable vacation for years to come. Thanks, Lisa, for opening your home to families like ours!!!"

  • Home away from home

"This was our second stay at Hatteras Jack and on both our visits, we found it clean, comfortable, and the perfect vacation home on Hatteras Island. We love the location on a quiet cul-de-sac, and the views from the upper deck were spectacular. We absolutely love the large west-facing pool deck, which kept the pool water at comfortable temperatures from the afternoon sun. It's an easy walk over the dune to the beach from the house. The large kitchen was especially nice, as was the large jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. We have been coming to Hatteras Island for years, and Hatteras Jack is one of only a few houses we have rented multiple times - in fact, we plan to rent it again later this year to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday."

Waves Travel Tips

Waves Beach House Rentals: Superior Hatteras Island Living

One of America's top vacation hot spots has long been the Outer Banks of North Carolina. These barrier islands lie between the Atlantic Ocean and North Carolina and are home to historical sites, national landmarks, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S. Hatteras Island is a renowned Outer Banks destination. While visiting, consider Waves beach house rentals to meet lodging needs in an outstanding way. With many rentals to choose from, ranging from cozy apartments to luxury homes, Waves beach house rentals offer sleeping quarters for couples and large groups. Some Waves homes offer private beaches and open, spacious floor plans. Many are within walking distance to the beach and have more room than a hotel.

Get Outside and Enjoy Nature's Splendor

To enjoy the brilliant skies and turquoise water of Hatteras Island, there is no better place than Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which lies only minutes from Waves homes. The ever-shifting islands are subject to wind and water, which change the islands over time. Lounge away an afternoon on the sandy beaches with a good book or explore the marshlands and maritime woods on an afternoon hike. At Camp Hatteras, exciting activities like horseback riding, kayaking, kite-surfing, and jet skiing are surefire ways to bring families together.

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse: A National Landmark

A visit to Hatteras Island wouldn't be complete without stopping by Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the most recognized lighthouse in the country. The nation's tallest beacon shines over 20 miles out to sea, warning sailors and seamen of the Diamond Shoals, sandbars that have claimed numerous lives and seafaring crafts throughout history. After learning the area's history at the visitor's center, climb 268 steps for spectacular, panoramic views from the top of this national landmark. A relaxing evening and restful sleep are waiting at Outer Banks vacation rentals.
