"Our family of 6 and 2 dogs loved our stay. The kitchen is stocked with several appliances, pots & pans and plates, glasses, utensils and much more. Everything you need to prepare all your meals. Loved the covered parking. So nice to have the beach cart and toys available plus the bikes. This place is very convenient to everything. You can walk to Harris Teeter, ABC store, Kill Devil Grill (my new favorite restaurant) and New York Pizza Pub, etc... All ranked high on Trip Advisor and Yelp.com. Also close to outlets and lots of other shopping places. The beach is straight across the street. It couldn't of been more convenient. There's plenty of board games, puzzles and books. The place was clean and had even a few things to cover us until we got to the store like aluminum foil, saran wrap, etc.... The owner is really nice and accommodating. This building only consist of 12 units so the community pool was often available without others so it was like having a pool all to ourselves! What I loved about the place also is that it's set off the road so no traffic noise so if you are a light sleeper like me....this is for you. The unit overlooks a grassy area however you can see the pool as well which was great when our teenagers were babysitting our younger girls at the pool and had to call them up for dinner. Enjoyed TV's in the bedrooms and main living room. The elevator was a plus however we used the stairs most of the time. This is close to Jockey Ridge park, Wright Brothers, putt putt golf, go carts, bumper cars, zip line, Jeannette's Fishing Pier, crabbing, etc..... The beach was not crowded at this location when we were there. I could go on and on about all the things this place is close to and activities but you really need to stay here and see for yourself."

"First of all, I want to say that esthetically, this condo is very nice, with very high end furniture. Yet, the electronic entertainment (i.e. Wi-Fi, cable, DVD players and all but one TV) were on disrepair and antiquated. Not that we wanted to spend our vacation watching TV, but it would have been nice to watch a movie together at night in the living area, but the TV didn't have sound, and the DVD player would not play movies. Tried to pick up the Wi-Fi on my ROKU player but the signal was not strong enough to even be picked up by my phone.
Across Route 12 is the beach access, which is shared with a large condominium complex, which sets up umbrellas every morning for it's tenant/guests, making it extremely crowded. We opted to drive further West on Route 12 to find less populated beached to enjoy ourselves without feeling like we were "on-top" of an infinite amount of families.
I know this sounds negative, but I was slightly disappointed, wishing I would have known about the over populated beach and that we were in walking distance of the "foodie scene".
One last thing. The bathrooms are very oddly placed. There are 3 bathrooms but they can only be accesses through the bedrooms. Which turned out to be slightly awkward when my nephews (whom were on the couches) woke us up in the middle of the night to use the restroom.
Kitchen great, appliances were very nice but too complicated for a novice chef. The view of the Highway and condos across the street was loud and busy all day and night, but inside the condo you could not hear the road noise. The upstairs media room was nice but there was only enough seating room for 3, the movie projector was inoperative (they had put a large screen TV in front of it) but the media system was so troublesome, and the instructions that were provided had not been updated for the new TV.
I guess I was expecting too much, but I think the money to furnish the rental property was disproportionate with the rest of the aesthetics."

"Had an awesome time, the Beach crab is centrally located, and the beach access is a very short walk. We were able to get to anywhere we wanted quickly and easily and the upper deck was perfect for sitting outside int the evenings."

"This was our second time at Kill Devil Rum, and we're coming back next year. This home, not house, is just perfectly wonderful. Everything you could ever need or want to make a memorable OBX vacation can be found here. Location to beach, activities, food stores, etc. couldn't be better. The pool is fabulous after a hot day on the beach or for a swim after dinner. Being able to take our pets is an added plus. We did take a canopy tent which we set up to provide some shade for them in the back yard. Worked perfectly! We love coming to the OBX and staying at Kill Devil Rum!"
