  • Perfect honeymoon!

"Studio sea was just the right size for the two of us for a week. We were able to pack breakfast and most of our lunches to save time and money for exploring the coast. The location was great and Dawn was helpful with any questions about where to eat or find local art. I only wish we had more time to kayak, fish, and sunbathe!"

  • Kayla

"We go to the OBX every year. This house was perfect for our family of three but could easily accommodate a larger family. My son loved the ping pong table and fuse ball games. It is very roomy and bright. The backyard is also a plus if you want some sun and not much sand. It is centrally located to all restaurants. Matt was very nice and quick to reply to any of my emails or phone calls. I would recommend this house to anyone."

  • Nice house and Great for a large Group.

"We had a great time at this house. We had a reunion for 16 people, including their spouses. The house was rather well equipped in the the kitchen. If your are a real cook you may want to bring some things that are not basic as in pans utensils. Their were (3) coffee makers, but only one blender. Plenty of plates and flatware for 24+ people. The only disappointment was they did not leave any spices, plastic storage/garbage bags, or cleaning supplies in the kitchen/house. That seemed odd from other rental homes we have used in the past. The house was very clean in most areas, but I was disappointed in the cigarette smoke odor in the two lower bedrooms, since it was a "Non-Smoking house". Over-all, a very good experience. Great Location and fine home for big groups. The the LED/Fiber optic lights in the bottom of the pool are very cool."

  • Great Place to Relax

"The house, private pool, hot tub and grounds were immaculate, considering Hurricane Irene had passed through two weeks prior to our visit. The property was well-maintained. We were looking for a place we could relax, if we wanted, or sight-see, if we preferred. The house was much larger than we needed for two couples, but it was nice having a king-size bed and a private bath for each. We had great, fun times in the swimming pool, and spent a lot of time in the game room playing dominoes on the game table and using the pool table. We sometimes walked to the public access beach and sometimes drove, depending on how much "stuff" we needed to take with us. The owner stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. We found a great restaurant close by that we had never been to: Port-O-Call, where the food and service were both wonderful. Everyone should try their specialty dessert, creme brulee. We visited Roanoke Island Festival Park, the Wright Brothers Memorial and the Currituck and Bodie Lighthouses (the bridge was out and we couldn't go any farther south from Bodie). We will definitely consider the Boss's Playhouse for a larger family gathering next year, if it's available. This was ten times better than a hotel room stay. Many thanks to the owner and manager for making the rental experience so easy and enjoyable."
