"The home was wonderful to stay in. My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in the Outer Banks. We liked how there was a neighborhood feel and away from the main drag, but it was only 10 -15 minutes to the ocean and much less to the Sound. The owner was very responsive to our questions (both e-mail and phone), and he was honest in his answers to our many questions. The security deposit was returned in full to us the day after we arrived home. The wifi worked well. We also very much appreciated that we didn't have to rent Saturday to Saturday. The rental price was very good, especially compared to so many other places in the area. If we come back to the Outer Banks, we'd very likely stay here again.
The only significant negative was the amount of sand / dirt and some pet hair that was inside the house when we arrived. With many beaches nearby I understand how tough it is (we spent an hour cleaning our own sand before we left) to keep these homes clean; however, we did not anticipate spending about two hours vacuuming rugs and sweeping the floors our first evening staying there.
Although we didn't need them, the kids' bedrooms were neat with the décor. Also, there were many kid-friendly videos available that'd be an added bonus if we brought our young child with us next time. Finally, the nautical theme throughout the house was great. For 5 days, it was a home away from home for us. I'm glad we stayed at "Sanity Break"."

"We (couple plus 4 month old) went with two other couples and their (total) sons. This was a great house for all our needs. The kids and adults loved fishing off the pier (though part was not in use due to the big storm a few weeks before) and using the kayaks in the cove. The boys jumped right in the water! The house was a very quick walk to the playground/pool/sound area which made it easy with kids. Fishing and crabbing were awesome and the house was well-equipped with pots, pans, etc. The layout was great for spreading out the whole group and quiet family time. A really peaceful environment and easy 10 minute drive to the ocean, we would stay here again...and again. The only complaint was the beds - a little soft for our taste, but not a problem for most. Oh, enjoy the jetted tub. Sweet bonus! The owner was EXTREMELY friendly - a testament to the charm of the South."

"We brought three entire families together for this vacation trip and found your beach home to go up and beyond our expectations. We were amazed at the amount of space, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, game room, TV's, and even an excellent outdoor shower. We truly enjoyed our stay and got to know our two granddaughters from another state better because we were all under one roof. The walk to the beach was not bad unless you came like us bringing everything....coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, sand toys for the little ones. We did learn after awhile that with the heat of the day and walk we could leave some of it behind and chose certain days to take certain items with us. K-Mart and the Food Lion were nice and close and that was convenient. We found the back roads heading towards the sound area to be a great way to get back and forth to the shopping center with the Food Lion thereby eliminating a lot of road traffic. We also enjoyed many of the restaurants nearby including morning breakfast from Jolly Rogers...a favorite of ours from many years ago when we use to visit the OBX. Duck Donuts became a treat too -- though the 45 minute wait the first time was a shocker. We learned you can eat donuts any time of the day....go in the afternoons when they aren't busy! We were also happy to see that Awful Arthurs was still in business....though if you go you need to go early....that place is really busy all the time! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed your beach house. It was perfect for 6 adults, 4 small children and 1 small poodle. Our youngest grandchild, 4 years old, loved the carpeted stairs. This was "his playground". The other three grandchildren enjoyed the living room upstairs and claimed that as their headquarters. The game center became our puzzle area. If we ever decide to come back to the OBX, we'll definitely look at your place again to stay. Thanks for making it so enjoyable and memorable."
