Cozy, Comfortable and Relaxing!
"This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at the Turtle Shell, and we were delighted to find that it was every bit as enjoyable as every previous time we've stayed. We loved the peacefulness and light of the house, the comfortable furniture and bed, and how relaxed we were while there. It's so quiet at night, and we loved walking to the beach to put our feet in the foam for awhile. We also found this location accessible to events we wanted to attend, in particular the Nags Head Dolphin watch at Kitty Hawk Kites, which I would recommend to any renter. We also had the pleasure of visiting the nearby town of Duck and also seeing the wild horses through Corolla Outback Adventures. One of the other convenient and close things to do is the Bodie Island light house--there's a spectacular view from the top!
This is now our third time dealing with Debra to rent the property, and I can't say enough about her professionalism and her willingness to make a stay at the Turtle Shell as amazing as possible for every guest. She's very prompt with replies, positive, and helpful in terms of her rates-the Shell is a great value! This property is also immaculate every time we come to stay, and she provides everything a guest could possibly need for a stay there. My husband and I especially appreciated the DVD player, board games and reading material that's provided--there's even a 2015 Summer Fun guide to peruse when looking for places to dine and visit. We have every intention of coming to stay at the Turtle Shell again soon. This year's trip was special for us as my husband and I were celebrating our third wedding anniversary and also spending quality time together as we anticipate the birth of our first child, a son, this October! We are very excited to bring our son in the future to The Turtle Shell we love so much. Thank you so much Debra for all you do! Staying at this property is a must for anyone who wants a wonderful beach vacation experience, and you can't find a better owner than Debra!"

"This home was perfect for our family! My fiancé/I and our dog Jackson had a great time! The house had enough room for a few family members to come down throughout the week, but was still cozy.
My favorite part about the house is its old Outer Banks charm. My family had a house in OBX that had similar features ...the wood paneling, the driftwood art, even similar style furniture so this was like a walk down memory lane.
The location is also a big plus, close to the Atlantic St. public beach access (about 1/4 mile walk), grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The central location allowed for and easy drive either south to Oregon Inlet or north to Carova for ORV beach access.
We'll definitely try to come back to this great house. We had an amazing time and made some great memories here!"

"We could not have been any happier with this home! It exceeded our expectations both in location, cleanliness, convenience, and household items that were available to us for use. We brought "everything but the kitchen sink" in case we needed anything, but the house had every possible item that we could have needed. In addition, it had a "homey" feel and you could tell that it was well-loved. Two couples and two small dogs stayed here and had a wonderful time!"
