"This was our second year staying at Steph's lovely cottage on the canal, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our time on Ocracoke. Steph is a joy to work with and her love of the island comes through in the details of the cottage. It's such a warm and comfortable place! We rented kayaks this year and launched from "our backyard!" We watched sunsets after making a nice dinner in the awesomely stocked kitchen (really, we didn't need to bring anything!). And we biked everywhere! We are already planning our stay for next year in this house, because it is such perfection."

"We enjoyed a wonderful few days in this house. It was immaculate, in spite of the fact that they are dog-friendly. We enjoyed the stay. My only recommendation would be to replace window screens as they are torn and we couldn't open windows. Given that we were there in April, it wasn't a big deal, but would be later in the season! Really loved the place."

"My husband and I booked The Studio in October to get away for a long weekend and a little R&R after a hectic, busy summer, and this beautiful little place couldn't have fit the bill more perfectly! Debbie was so welcoming, and although we didn't really cross paths with her during the rest of our stay, she made it super clear that she was always available if we needed anything. Perfect for when we just wanted to be alone and chill.
The Studio decor has a warm, homey, artsy, eclectic vibe. It was very clean with several amenities and a well-stocked kitchen. So if want to cook, you really only need to bring your food and beverages. The outdoor, enclosed patio was cute and quaint as well.
There are 2 full-size beds - one on the main level and one in the loft. We're tall people so the bed was a tad small for us, but it was super comfortable nonetheless. One would have to be pretty comfortable with the ladder/stairs leading up to the loft, so we just stayed on the main level.
Being mid October we were blessed with near perfect weather. Rented a golf cart for a day and spent one of the days just zipping around the whole town site seeing, stopping at shops and popping in different restaurants along the way. Happily not too many places had closed for the season yet, so most everything was still open.
We spent the better part of another day going over to Portsmouth Island to do some fishing. The charter boat taking everyone over gives you the choice of going to see the abandoned town or just dropping you off right on the beach. We opted for the latter with all our fishing gear, and were treated to a beautiful day of beach combing, fishing and relaxing. From what we heard from the others who explored the town: Bring.Bug.Spray. Lots of it. We didn't have a problem with that on the beach.
Although we cooked in for a lot of our meals, we also tried many of the local restaurants. We would highly recommend Dajio's, Zillie's and for a phenomenal burger, don't miss SmacNallys!
We would definitely come back and stay at The Studio in a heart beat. It was a perfect, relaxing getaway and definitely made us feel like we were on "island time.""

"Lovely house with all the amenities we expected. Especially loved the outdoor shower and comfortable front porch. Master bedroom was to die for!! Location is great with easy bike ride to town or to get supplies. Car is really not necessary except to get to farther beach accesses. We originally planned to house 7 people but gratefully 2 dropped out as it would not have been very comfortable with all. Would not recommend 7 unless all are very understanding and on same schedule. A must eat is the 'Freto Taco' that can be had from the cart on the main drag. A bit unusual but really good. Remember to bring/pick-up necessities like we did not i.e. TP, soap, dish/cloths soap, etc. (Rookies we were). We all would definitely return especially at this time of year as the town was so quiet."
