"Our family of four stayed here the week of August 1-8. This home is really lovely and exceptionally clean. The photos do not do it justice! The house sits far back from the road and is private. The screened-in porch has several chairs to sit in and a large picnic table with benches. The home is well laid out and spacious with hardwood floors on the main floor and carpet upstairs. Each bedroom and the loft with the sofa bed have a ceiling fan and a TV (cable - no satellite). The owners provide towels, wash cloths, bedspreads, and sheets. Make sure to bring your own trash bags, paper products (Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), and soap (laundry, dish and dishwasher detergent, and hand soap). We stock up on groceries at Food Lion located in Avon, which is an hour and 45 minutes north of Ocracoke (a one-hour ferry ride is part of this trip and it's free, although there can be a long wait for the ferry on the return trip to Ocracoke). Before returning to Ocracoke on the ferry, stop at the Scotch Bonnet in Frisco for FABULOUS fudge! The king and queen beds are extremely comfortable. The master bath is quite big with an oversized bathtub/shower. The second bath is upstairs and has a shower stall. The kitchen is well-equipped (the stove is gas). We ate in most nights (husband is a great cook) and found the kitchen had all the tools we needed to prepare meals. We purchased fresh seafood (shrimp, clams, scallops, bluefish, and flounder) from both Native Seafood and Ocracoke Seafood Company. The two nights we ate out included Howard's Pub (great fried oysters and hushpuppies) and Thai Moon (take-out only Thai food but delicious). We also had ice cream every day and found the Slushy Stand's ice cream to be our favorite. Make sure to rent bikes during your stay as that's really the best way to get around the island (we rented from Beach Outfitters, which is not far from the house). For souvenirs make sure to visit Over the Moon for unique, one-of-a-kind gifts. There is a very nice gas grill and an outdoor shower at the back of the home. They also have a large reading library with a diverse selection of topics so you don’t really need to bring any books to the beach if you stay here. There are jigsaw puzzles to put together and several movies (DVDs) to watch. They have Wi-Fi, too. Most importantly, the owners are attentive and quick to respond and we received our security deposit back within a week of our stay. We would absolutely stay at this home again!"

"We've been visiting Ocracoke since 2002 and this is the hands-down best home we've ever rented. The owners were attentive and responsive, and it's apparent how much they care for their home. It's comfortable, meticulously organized, beautifully decorated, and it's located on the Oyster Creek canals of Ocracoke (our favorite part of the island). Everything you need is there: bikes, fishing poles, kayaks, beach chairs, flashlights, etc.
So the nitty gritty: The beds and the accompanying comforters, pillows, etc. are superb. (Like other rentals you'll need to bring your own sheets and towels.) There are two lovely bathrooms, one of them with a soaking tub. At the end of our beach day we'd return to the house and shower off in the fairytale-like outdoor shower. Our daughter loved crabbing off the dock. We enjoyed jumping on the bikes and riding to our favorite destinations (Dajio for dinner and Books to be Red for a welcome respite from the sun). I practiced yoga on the rooftop deck, and at night we'd take in the sunset with a dessert.
So here's the thing: I would say that this house actually ratchets up the enjoyment of Ocracoke, something I never thought I'd say since Ocracoke on its own is a wild, magical place. But the house is luxuriously appointed while paying homage to the rustic, unspoiled nature of Ocracoke. This, combined with the amenities of the house, make it a no-brainer rental. Other properties in this price point pale in comparison."

"We stayed here in November for a long weekend. I've been coming to Ocracoke for around 10 to 12 years and this is one of the nicest homes I've stayed in. The view from the deck is awesome, and the home is beautiful."

"We had an awesome time. The place was great with awsome views of Silver Lake and the sunset. We had some difficult getting the code, but that was partially due to the fact that we had no cel service on the island. The village is quaint, the beaches amazing, the people we met were friendly. I love to go back again."
