"WE loved staying at the Argonauta. It is located in a cul de sac and is perfect for families with small children to ride bikes, scooters etc. It is so close to the beach that our 5 and 3 1/2 year old grandchildren did not even complain about the walk. And then when we had enough of sand we could spend our time in the beautiful backyard pool. The kitchen is wonderfully supplied with cooking utensils, dishes, glassware etc, we did not use what we brought. The rooms are nice and beds comfortable. There are porches on the third and second levels with nice views. A small enclosed porch was a nice feature. We will definitely stay here again. The only small issue was the hot tub did not work, but who needs that in the summer. This did not effect our wonderful time here at all. Suggestions bring garbage bags, paper towels and toilet paper, dishwasher and liquid soap so you are ready the first night."

""Meant To Be" was, without a doubt, the most lovely place we have stayed as a family. The house was fully stocked with everything one could think of...even some spices and such were left in the pantry. We enjoyed seeing horses every day, a remarkable beach (though admittedly, somewhat busy), and relaxation. The house is beautiful, comfortable, with more than ample deck space, and a remarkable pool! I never thought that I'd enjoy a pool at the beach, but yes. I really, really do. The town of Duck (not far) is quaint, and boasted a Harris Teeter's, a very fine grocer.
The only thing I'll say is, (in terms of advice) is if you are driving from the North East, leave in the middle of the night. Virginia traffic is an absolute nightmare.
The house is accommodating for children (we have 3), as well as adults (there were 4 adults). So much space for everyone to either enjoy alone time, or mingle with family.
I highly recommend this house for your beach vacation."

"We had our family reunion at Families are Forever and absolutely loved our stay here. Everything from boogie boards to beach chairs to lots of deck seating to enjoy the breeze made our time there enjoyable! Families are Forever is well equipped with basic kitchen items and even spices to use - that was really helpful when cooking! The rooms are beautifully decorated. The hammock on the first floor and the chair hammock on the second floor are also nice in the evening. The hot tub and pool are great for the kids or the teens. We especially appreciated the outside stairs going from the ground to the top floor. The porch off of the kitchen was perfect for morning breakfasts to watch the sunrise. It takes about 3.5 minutes to walk to the beach - a boardwalk is far from the end of the driveway. We have actually visited a couple of times -- in November and in June - and both seasons are unique for a trip to Hatteras. The water in June is perfectly refreshing! We also enjoyed our time in November - good weather and still beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the sound. You can see the sound and the ocean from the top deck of Families are Forever! We will surely stay at Families are Forever again! Thank you so much for a beautiful home and wonderful vacation!"

"My wife and I had an excellent stay at the Stone's Throw. The house was everything we expected and more. The owner, Susan, was great to work with and will do her best to make your stay a good one. Great location on a private drive and close to the beach. A five minute walk and you are splashing in the Atlantic surf. The neighborhood is very quiet with no loud noises or parties. Definitely a nice, family atmosphere. The house is equipped with a pool and hot tub which were both well maintained and clean. Central air, satellite TV, and WiFi are some of the many amenities. Nice large deck on top level which was great for drinking the first cup of morning coffee and watching the many birds. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary utensils for cooking and eating in. If you prefer to eat out there are quite a few options within minutes of the house. Our favorite was Fat Crabs which was about a two minute drive from the house. All in all we had a great stay and will definitely go back and stay at Stone's Throw.
