Southern shores house was perfect!
"Loved the many decks! Great pool, but could have used another umbrella. Plenty of room for our big 3 generation family. Loved that property had beach cart, wagon, sand toys, beach chairs and two umbrellas so there was no need to buy or rent all that stuff. It was wonderful communicating directly with Kathy, the owner. Property was clean and very well furnished with comfortable beds, plenty of seating (inside, on decks and by pool), and quality kitchen equipment (a big contrast with other places we have rented). One minor issue: gas grill did not get very hot."

Amazingly Private Inside and Out and Yet Convenient to EVERYTHING!
"This house was AWESOME for our family of 17, (ranging from 5-75). Every room except the kids rooms on the bottom level have their own direct access to the deck areas which we all LOVED and their own bathrooms. Plus it is all VERY soundproof! The pool was well gated and secure so our little ones were safe. Everyone, even the adults had a BLAST on the slide, and in the pool and Hot Tub. The house was immaculate and even when we had an issue, (the AC stopped working on the 2nd Floor), the homeowner had it fixed within 2 hours of the initial phone call, while we were still out relaxing on the beach! The Beach is very private. (But fyi.. no lifeguards). We did most of our swimming in the pool. There are lifeguards about a 1/2 mile down the beach if you wanted to be close to one. I do suggest bringing your own pots and pans if you are cooking every meal at the house. The stock pots were too big, and the one they did have was too small.. Other than that all utensils, etc. was very well stocked. Plus Wal-Mart is only about 1.5 miles away!! The traffic on Route 12 is a little intimidating, but for the most part people do stop for you in the crosswalk. I highly suggest this house for your large family that enjoys having their own space on a week long vacation!"

"This house has everything you need to make your vacation complete. It is close to the Boardwalk in Duck (a must see) and the grocery stores at the Bridge. It is a quiet neighborhood and a short walk to the beach. My granddaughter and I loved the pool. When the waves were too strong, we really enjoyed it. The house was very clean and the kitchen well equipped. Several days we spotted a buck and two doe eating across the road. Thank you again for sharing your house. We hope to return next year."

"This place was just as lovely as I had hoped. The owner was immensely helpful and welcoming. Check in was super convenient and on my schedule. Could be done with a lock box, but owner was there to welcome my husband and I, even though it was late. She helped us plan our days and gave us tips for dining and sightseeing. I loved having her there on the property to help if I had a quick question, but we also had plenty of privacy, too. The studio felt very separate with the layout and trees helping to give us some sense of coziness. The place itself was very quiet as the property is located nearly at the end of an already quiet street so almost no one drives by. The backyard is a little slice of heaven with lots of trees, including a sweet Weepin Willow cradling individual seating areas in a flagstone patio, with access to a grill if desired. A hammock is hung near the water between two trees with a string of lights draping over it to give you a lovely nighttime escape. And of course, the dock on the Sound is the best seat in the place to take in the beauty of the massive body of water. We were blessed with the most spectacular sunset reflected like a mirror over the calm waters while we were there. The land mass to the west is far enough away that it nearly disappears completely, leaving the most peaceful, serene view before you. Lighting hanging in the trees at night brings the space alive and everything felt so warm and inviting. Inside the studio was just perfect - everything we needed - and just the right amount of space. Just as cozy and welcoming as the lovely yard. We WILL be back and were sad to have to leave!!!"
