  • The Hodges Family

"We celebrated my brother-in-laws 40th birthday at this beautiful home. We are completely spoiled with this location on the outer banks. The house was perfect with everything we needed. The owners were very attentive to any questions I had for them. The house was perfectly located to the beach in walking distance which was a good time for the family to talk and laugh on the way. Will never forget the memories we made and can't wait to return."

  • HJI

"We had a lovely time at Mike's View, on the beach in Southern Shores. Probably our 10th stay in this property. We are hooked - as our dogs can go, and many friends have gone with us, on different vacations over the years. Ready to book it again for next year."

  • Sweet little place!

"This place was just as lovely as I had hoped. The owner was immensely helpful and welcoming. Check in was super convenient and on my schedule. Could be done with a lock box, but owner was there to welcome my husband and I, even though it was late. She helped us plan our days and gave us tips for dining and sightseeing. I loved having her there on the property to help if I had a quick question, but we also had plenty of privacy, too. The studio felt very separate with the layout and trees helping to give us some sense of coziness. The place itself was very quiet as the property is located nearly at the end of an already quiet street so almost no one drives by. The backyard is a little slice of heaven with lots of trees, including a sweet Weepin Willow cradling individual seating areas in a flagstone patio, with access to a grill if desired. A hammock is hung near the water between two trees with a string of lights draping over it to give you a lovely nighttime escape. And of course, the dock on the Sound is the best seat in the place to take in the beauty of the massive body of water. We were blessed with the most spectacular sunset reflected like a mirror over the calm waters while we were there. The land mass to the west is far enough away that it nearly disappears completely, leaving the most peaceful, serene view before you. Lighting hanging in the trees at night brings the space alive and everything felt so warm and inviting. Inside the studio was just perfect - everything we needed - and just the right amount of space. Just as cozy and welcoming as the lovely yard. We WILL be back and were sad to have to leave!!!"

  • Perfect in January!

"We stayed in January. What a fantastic experience. The home was perfect. Despite it being 48 degrees outside we played volleyball and some basketball in the driveway. With the bright sun it felt like 60! The kids had plenty to do. There is a TV in every room with an internet media player to watch Netfix if you are bored. There is a small gaming table on the bottom floor for the kids to play on and a large tv in case you want to bring your xbox or ps4 to plug into. The top floor has a very large library of very good DVDs. We loved the big fireplace on the top floor. Everyone seemed to gather around it at night. It turns on with the push of a button on the wall, very easy. The queen size bedrooms on the second floor were awesome. Just like the rst of the house, they were all very clean/spotless. The balcony views for each were also very nice. The third floor bedroom is also very nice. A really nice balcony view from there as well. Oh yeah, that bedroom has a very nice jetted tub. Whether it's 95 degrees in August or 48 degrees in January, this is a home you want to stay it if you have a large family. Jorge the owner is also one of the nicest people you'll ever speak to in your entire life. He checks on you to make sure your stay is comfortable and reminds you of the discounts you can get.. for example he told us about the bowling pass on the refrigerator which saved us some $$$ the second night we were there. He was ALWAYS accessible if we needed anything. Lets see.. the kitchen had everything you needed.. pots and pans, oven, microwave, you name it. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate our stay a 10.. on a scale of dealing with the owner, on a scale of 1-10 I would give Jorge an 11."
