"Our family of four stayed here the week of August 1-8. This home is really lovely and exceptionally clean. The photos do not do it justice! The house sits far back from the road and is private. The screened-in porch has several chairs to sit in and a large picnic table with benches. The home is well laid out and spacious with hardwood floors on the main floor and carpet upstairs. Each bedroom and the loft with the sofa bed have a ceiling fan and a TV (cable - no satellite). The owners provide towels, wash cloths, bedspreads, and sheets. Make sure to bring your own trash bags, paper products (Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), and soap (laundry, dish and dishwasher detergent, and hand soap). We stock up on groceries at Food Lion located in Avon, which is an hour and 45 minutes north of Ocracoke (a one-hour ferry ride is part of this trip and it's free, although there can be a long wait for the ferry on the return trip to Ocracoke). Before returning to Ocracoke on the ferry, stop at the Scotch Bonnet in Frisco for FABULOUS fudge! The king and queen beds are extremely comfortable. The master bath is quite big with an oversized bathtub/shower. The second bath is upstairs and has a shower stall. The kitchen is well-equipped (the stove is gas). We ate in most nights (husband is a great cook) and found the kitchen had all the tools we needed to prepare meals. We purchased fresh seafood (shrimp, clams, scallops, bluefish, and flounder) from both Native Seafood and Ocracoke Seafood Company. The two nights we ate out included Howard's Pub (great fried oysters and hushpuppies) and Thai Moon (take-out only Thai food but delicious). We also had ice cream every day and found the Slushy Stand's ice cream to be our favorite. Make sure to rent bikes during your stay as that's really the best way to get around the island (we rented from Beach Outfitters, which is not far from the house). For souvenirs make sure to visit Over the Moon for unique, one-of-a-kind gifts. There is a very nice gas grill and an outdoor shower at the back of the home. They also have a large reading library with a diverse selection of topics so you don’t really need to bring any books to the beach if you stay here. There are jigsaw puzzles to put together and several movies (DVDs) to watch. They have Wi-Fi, too. Most importantly, the owners are attentive and quick to respond and we received our security deposit back within a week of our stay. We would absolutely stay at this home again!"

"Excellent two week vacation at Edgewater! Great location for inbound traveling (no getting stuck on 12 to get to Duck or Corolla!!). Maritime forest is soooo relaxing and shady for those very hot OBX days. Residential neighborhood off the beaten path is perfect for running and biking. Paddleboarding and kayaking from the dock was so easy; and leaving them on the dock for two weeks was key. Caught over a dozen blue crabs from the dock and enjoyed crab mac & cheese!
The house itself is deceivingly large. It is really spread out and offers plenty of "quiet" space for those times when you need it. There was only five of us so we didn't have a huge need for the guest house or the lofts, but it was fun to explore and could see how multiple families or generations could take advantage of all the room. Furniture was nice, kitchen had up-to-date appliances (only negative is no filtered water - we had to buy a TON of gallons). Full cable, surround sound and house speakers (nice for connecting Pandora or an iPod), and wife - were all great perks.
Overall: can't beat it! Would love to return for THREE weeks next year!"

Another great stay at Sea Spray Cottages! Perfect location and pet friendly! Very clean!
"This was our second stay with Sea Spray Cottages. . .and it was just as great as our first! To start with, the owner is very responsive and super easy to deal with to schedule the stay. The cottage is very well maintained. You would never guess that dogs were allowed to stay in the cottages because there is no smell and no hair. The cottage was very clean. The fenced-in yard is perfect for pets. It was so nice to let our boston terrier outside and not have to put him on a leash. The location is great. You just have to walk across the street to access the beach. You are also in walking distance of the Nags Head pier (great breakfast), Snow Birds (great ice cream), and Tortuga's Lie (excellent food). I highly recommend this for small families like mine (2 adults, 1 child), especially if traveling with pets. Great, great experience!"

"We had a fabulous week at your cottage! The view was perfect, especially from the porch swing in the morning having coffee. Pictures on the web site are exactly as it looks in person. Not too big / not too small, just the right size. The cupboards are stocked with everything you should need. We had dinner a few times at Mulligan's in Nags Head...this very casual restaurant will not disappoint!! Best steamed shrimp I had all week! Will definately stay again should we come back to the Outer Banks....this was a vacation we won't soon forget!"
