"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home was clean when we arrived and all necessary information was available. Cart worked well and bicycles were in excellent repair. We have stayed in Keeper's Landing before and find this to be convenient and quiet for a relaxing vacation. Other than a lot of stairs to negotiate, would recommend this rental for any couple or small family looking to stay on the island."Guest: A guest from Advance, NC Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 23, 2014View listing
"We have an incredible visit. The home was beautiful, clean and they provided nice linens and complementary shampoo, conditioner, soap as well as basics like dish washing soap, laundry detergent, extra light bulbs, etc. The owner was very helpful when the golf cart had a flat tire and took care of it. The location was ideal - close to the Shoals club. We will definitely come back! Thank you!"Guest: Lise Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 8, 2014View listing
"My husband, four kids and I came in to help with the inauguration Badwater Cape Fear 51 mile race March 22. We came in late Friday night and left Sunday morning. I was looking for a well-located house that my husband and kids could use all-day while I worked as the time-keeper for the race (7 am - 10 pm). The house was perfect for us- and with 2 golf carts, I was able to take one and leave one for the family to use. They toured the lighthouse, went shopping, spent time on the beach and came to visit me several times at the Conservancy (race headquarters). Normally I would be more in charge of taking care of our kids on a trip like this, but this time I couldn't...but Bald Head Island was the perfect venue to let my husband step up and take over. We put the 2 teenagers in the upstairs bedroom so that they could stay up late and use the kitchen/living area. That worked well for all of us early-to-bed-early-to-risers sleeping downstairs. We arrived after dark on Friday, and as first-timers to Bald Head, had no idea where to go or how to get around. The location of the house made it easy to drop off our things, jump on a golf cart and head to Mojo's for a late dinner (the grocery store had already closed when we got there). The map they provided in the house also helped a lot until we got our bearings. It really is a simple island once you get there and everyone is so helpful if you stop to ask. We will definitely be back next year for the race! We look forward to exploring more of the island next time."Guest: Lovesummer Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: September 2, 2014View listing
"We've vacationed at Bald Head several times, and I've always ridden by the neighborhood that these homes are in and thought it was the most attractive street of unique looking homes on the island. We were so impressed by the neighborhood that we are considering purchasing a home in it. The neighborhood is a stone's throw away from a beautiful hidden park (its hard to believe its at the beach) and a short cart ride to several very nice beaches. The house is on the higher part of the island, as we didn't encounter as many bugs here as we did in the lower places. It is about 3 miles from the ferry. The house is beautifully decorated, and perfect for a couple and their young children. The master bedroom is on the top floor (3rd) and has its own private bath. The living quarters are on the second. The beautifully renovated 2nd bedroom and bath is on the ground level. Note that the 2nd bedroom consists of two bunk beds. One note... The unit does NOT have an oven. If I were to suggest one minor upgrade to the home, it would be the upgrade of the microwave to a microwave convection oven. They have a new super nice and super fast golf cart that seats 6. The owners are extremely attentive and accommodating. Can't say anything bad about it, and if you have a small family, or want a romantic getaway for 2, this is perfect."Guest: RyanT Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 28, 2014View listing
Bald Head Island Travel Tips
Bald Head Island Rentals Offer the Feel of a Deserted Island
Bald Head Island rentals are the ideal choices for anyone looking for a secluded getaway destination. The island may only be reached by boat or ferry across the two-mile wide Cape Fear River from Southport, North Carolina, and offers a unique feeling of exclusivity no matter where your accommodations are located.
Reserve Bald Head Island Rentals for Relaxation and Exploration
Because you can’t drive to your Bald Head Island resort, you’ll immediately feel more relaxed in your new home away from home. The absence of vehicles on the island lets you focus on playing golf at the professional course, or exploring local attractions such as "Old Baldy," the oldest lighthouse in the state. Your North Carolina beach rentals also allow you to visit the many waterways and protected forests during your stay.
Enjoy Cooking for the Family at Your Bald Head Island Resort
The Maritime Market is one of the most popular retail locations accessible from Bald Head Island rentals. Over 14,000 square feet hold everything from fine wines to fresh seafood, and you can find all you need to prepare home-cooked dinners at your Bald Head Island resort. Weekly specials, unusual and foreign ingredients and regular wine tastings make this market unlike others around North Carolina beach rentals.
Unusual Natural Surroundings Complete Your Stay at North Carolina Beach Rentals
Bald Head Island rentals are uniquely located where they are still in a tropical climate, but in the northernmost location where sabal palms grow in the wild. Expansive beaches surround almost the entire island, but it really doesn’t matter which side your Bald Head Island resort is located; the sun rises and sets over the Atlantic, so you’ll enjoy both views! Visit the maritime forests and enjoy a stroll along the hiking trails, or rent a kayak or canoe to explore the creeks surrounding North Carolina beach rentals for an unforgettable stay.
While planning a vacation trip to North Carolina’s Southern Coast you might want to consider additional beach lodging options in the following destinations: Carolina Beach lodging, Holden Beach rentals, accommodation in Sunset Beach, Wilmington beach rentals, or Topsail Island vacation rentals.
