Our idea of a perfect vacation......
"Isn’t it great when go somewhere with very high expectations and then those expectations are exceeded in every way. That was our experience at this property.
Our adult daughter, currently in graduate school in Chapel Hill, called us in September and said that she wanted to spend her fall break with us. How often does that happen? Just me, my wife and our daughter for a long weekend…PERFECT!!!
I immediately checked a map because I know precisely how my daughter defines the perfect vacation: A great balcony overlooking the ocean and immaculately clean accommodations. I chose Topsail for its casual natural beauty and proximity to the Research Triangle area and this property because of its balcony and awesome VRBO reviews.
I realize this was a large unit for three however our daughter has severe allergies to dust and pets and of paramount importance to us was cleanliness. We were not disappointed. The unit was impeccably clean and our daughter had absolutely no allergies during our stay. This is rare for her.
The balcony was fantastic and we spent most of our time there. My wife and I loved watching the sunrises every morning with sweatshirts and coffee. Daybreak over the ocean is an incredible experience. The bird life and marine life that can be observed from this perfectly positioned deck are awesome. We regularly watched dolphins cruise by and even spotted a whale and whale spout. Evenings found us on the deck with a glass of wine at dusk and then locating constellations at night. The deck is beyond awesome. The pictures do not do it justice.
We brought our bikes and loved biking up and down the rarely traveled bay front roads not far from our unit and we biked up and down the ocean front road as well. A bike ride to the pier was a highlight. We were glad we brought them.
Although prior to leaving we made some preliminary cool restaurant choices we never ate out even once. The kitchen was very well equipped and has a fantastic ocean view. So, some quick shopping at a close by (12min) Harris Teeter and we were set. Fun cooking, dinner on the balcony overlooking the ocean…..wish we were still there.
The unit has a large inventory of DVD’s so we had a great time with a movie each night. (Catch Me If You Can and then, the next night, a chick-flick I ignored…thankfully the unit has great wifi…).
We were extremely pleased with everything about our mini-vacation and will be renting this property again."

"Just returned from a week's stay at this condo. The view was excellent, as well as access to the beach. We enjoyed eating on the picnic table, which is just outside the kitchen door. Also, it was so easy to store the beach chairs in the outside storage. It rained a couple of days but we felt like we were on the beach just sitting on the deck. I will definitely rent this condo again next fall."

"Camille, the owner, is EXCEPTIONAL to work with. She is helpful, kind and very thorough! We have been vacationing at Topsail since 1991 and love the beach- not crowded, so clean and quiet. The house was not where I expected (I was thinking it was down near St. Regis Resort- where it's quieter) however, the location ended up being quiet (farther from the beach and far ocean views) but on a private "community" street. The house was clean and comfortable. No King bed, which was a bummer- but accommodations are nice- fully stocked kitchen, awesome blender for frozen bevies and beautifully decorated! Only 1 full bath upstairs which was difficult with 6 adults but the outside shower is super so that helped! All in all, a wonderful vacation at a wonderful house."

"Lovely beach house! Everything was as described. We were traveling with my daughter and her family (including a 3 1/2 year old), and we took advantage of the many decks/porches to both enjoy the views (saw dolphins one morning!) and not be on top of each other all the time. The owner responds quickly to inquiries, and was very helpful. Topsail Island is uncrowded and laid-back; we especially enjoyed the beach, kayaking in Stump Sound, getting fresh seafood to cook and take home from Surf City Crab, the Corner Sweet Bake Shop (peach cronuts, wow), the Karen Beasley Turtle Hospital, the Tuesday Farmers Market (with crafts), Shipwreck Mini-Golf and the educational program run by the environmental aquarium, which had children and adults seining in the surf with a naturalist who explained the "treasures" we found. . . ."
