"Stayed week of July 17, 2015. We have been coming for years. Views cannot be beat. Plenty of private decks, docks and swings give a huge amount of outdoor space. The ability to rent a boat is unique and you are located right near a marina. One of our favorite activities to to kayak out to the island. Wayne, the owner, is always accommodating and does whatever he can to make the stay enjoyable."

"This was our first time at Lake Gaston and it was incredible. The house is fully equipped and laid out very comfortably for large groups with 4 full bathrooms. Everything was as described and very clean."

All of our guest kept complimenting the venue. The owners are great to work with also! I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who is interested in an outdoor wedding!

"This was a mini vacation for us. We only stayed 3 nights. It was me, my husband, my son and his friend. They had a good time using the kayaks that the cottage provided. We did not swim in the immediate area due to the many sea shells that lay on the sand. My son and his friend went fishing but they only caught very small fish and they had to throw it back in the water. We all rented a pontoon boat at lake Wylie and that was a lot of fun. We stopped and parked the boat on the sand bar and went swimming there and had lunch at T-Bones. My son and his buddy wanted to rent a jet ski but time did not allow. The house had character, was comfortably furnished and extremely well stocked and kept very neat and clean. The AC worked fine. There were two full closets of towels, blankets and linens. There was also many board games, DVD's, and books for you to enjoy. Again, it was very well stocked. The name and number of the cleaning lady was provided in case you needed anything. It also had a room with a washer and dryer for your convenience. There was a huge flat screen TV in the living room. There was also a guest grill on the deck. The owner was very nice. We never met her but she called me on our arrival date to see how things were going. She told me that she only lived 10 minutes away and made herself available if needed. We had a couple of questions and texted her during our stay, which she responded immediately. The city of Charlotte was only 20 minutes away and stores were 10 minutes away.
If I were to vacation there again, I would love to see a fenced in area on the side of the house for our two dogs to run and play and also have a shell free beach area for easy access to the lake so you can swim and not be afraid to injure your feet. All - in- all, we had a very nice time and wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy other near by amenities and great restaurants."
