"We rented this house because of proximity to our daughter, who lives in Charlotte. The screened porch was perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife (squirrels, birds). Nice kitchen with excellent pots and pans (unusual in a rental). The house is close to shopping and restaurants. We would certainly stay here again when visiting our daughter and will recommend this rental to our friends."

"Nine of us ages 74-10 just spent a delightful week in this lovely home. The owners have spared no expense in keeping the home updated, clean and well stocked. They provide a pedal boat, chairs for the dock, and lots of information on the location - where to go and what to do. We loved diving and fishing off the dock - not at the same time. We caught catfish, small fry, and ta da....4 large mouth bass. We threw all but one back and had the nicest guy in world clean and debone one of the bass for us. We highly recommend renting a pontoon boat from Timber Lodge. Mike and Tyler are so nice and Mike is the guy who knows how to clean fish. We got two nice size filets from 3.5 lb bass and they were delicious. The home's location is pretty central to what you need. Taking garbage and recycling to a dump is inconvenient but I guess pretty standard for that setting. The DSL worked fine but we were in one of the few spots left in the country where you cannot call or text from your cell phone. I loved it but some of my group went through withdrawal. There is a sunroom that is perfect for family dining and playing Texas Hold'em, A cocktail table on which we did 2 puzzles, and a kitchen table that we used for cards and games. We didn't try any of the nearby restaurants because the online reviews weren't flattering. We loved Hwy 55 burgers though. The grill works as do all the kitchen appliances. We recommend Paradise on Lake Gaston to all who want a wonderful get-away place."

"I give this 5 stars knowing going into our stay that it is a very old cottage, so you have to expect things like creaky hardwood floors (which are in great shape). It's in a wonderful neighborhood and close to the village shops and Pinehurst Golf Resort. Being pet friendly is a huge plus as we were able to bring our dog. The entire experience was great, and the owner was helpful and very pleasant to work with. I definitely anticipate staying here again."

"I stayed here for 2 weeks while working at the Blumenthal. At just 4 blocks away, it was incredibly convenient. There is a Harris Teeter grocery store across the street and the apartment is fully equipped for cooking in. The furnishings are very comfortable and stylish. I will definitely stay here anytime I swing back through Charlotte. Rob, the owner, was very helpful and available for any of my questions."
