"I have used VRBO many times in the past in my travels and have to say this was the most welcoming, warm and inviting apartment I have ever stayed. The apartment is in a beautifully restored building within the Dilworth Historic District, which is a lovely, walking neighborhood. We could tell at first sight that it was well maintained and cared for. Jim requested that I call him when we arrived so he would know we arrived safely which was I thought was very special. He answered promptly and made sure to say he was available if we had questions about the apartment or needed additional information about the area. (He had sent me info and a map via email on local shops, grocery stores and restaurants along with his recommendations - many within walking distance). When my sister and I arrived in the evening the lights were on, classical music was playing and a platter of fresh fruits, English muffins, coffee, cookies, nuts, dried pasta and sauce, and red wine were waiting for us. The refrigerator was stocked with orange juice, white wine, butter, and sparking water. I had everything I needed for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. How many home owners think of all those little things. The living room was warm and comfortable and had a retro looking bar stocked with tonic/soda water, fresh limes and crystal containers of vodka, gin and scotch. There was also a note welcoming us and to enjoy the amenities. The bathrooms had thick, luxurious towels along with hotel sized soaps and lotions and a blow dryer. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated with lots of pillows and high quality linen and each room had plenty of drawers which made it easy to unpack and feel right at home. The apartment was on the second floor so there are stairs to climb and had a large open deck where we sat and watched the world go by. We came back to our, " home away from home," Sunday afternoon after completing a 2 day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 39.3 mile walk and enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck while watching several families walking home with arms full of pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch. I would not hesitate to stay at any of the properties offered by Home Collection when I travel back to Charlotte. Jim and James' attention to detail made our stay in Charlotte even more special and I would highly recommend their properties to anyone. (James it was a pleasure meeting and talking with you and I hope our paths cross again)!"Guest: Wanda M. Date of Stay: October 2013 Review Submitted: November 4, 2013View listing
"This is our second year to this magnificent vacation home called The Mac Daddy! I am a property manager for high end homes in Jupiter, Fla and rate this vacation home a 10, we came with six couples - each bringing a nice dinner for each evening. The main floor is on the third story with great views of the lake. Every floor has great covered porches and comfy rocking chairs. If you love water you will be in heaven! We were in the pool, spa, boat, ski doo and kayaks. In the evenings we had wine on top of the boat house and the stars were amazing! Owners of this beautiful home could not be more accommodating!"Guest: Linda Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 1, 2014View listing
"The cabin was very welcoming and beautiful. It felt like a home away from home. We could not have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing week. We enjoyed swimming and hiking everyday. We rented a canoe from the park and explored the shoreline of Lake Mayo and spent evenings enjoying the deck. We returned home feeling very rested and relaxed. Thank you so much for sharing this beautifful place with our family. Best vacation in a very long time."Guest: Teresa W. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 11, 2014View listing
"Tommy was a pleasure to deal with and consistently returned e-mails within 24 hours and picked up his phone every time I called. We loved the location and the house was great. Depending on future travel plans, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Tommy."Guest: Ryan A. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 10, 2014View listing
