Great place to take a family to get away from it all
"We had stayed in another house before, but it was already rented this year. I am glad it was. The house has a great layout so every room can see across the lake. We had a group of teens from 16 to 18, and they had a great time. They swam, jumped from the top of the boat house, kayaked over to the island and hung fishing lines. (Caught several big catfish) We rented a boat and it didn't matter which way the wind was blowing there was a calm area either in front of the house or around the corner in the creek. The owners were great to deal with and sent very detailed instructions about everything we would need and how to find it. The house was clean and well maintained. The dock area is a great place to spend the day. They tiki bar has a fridge and stereo.
I would highly recommend this place and would certainly stay again."

"We loved the MacDaddy! Our company does leadership retreats all across the globe, usually in amazing locations such as San Diego, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, and even the Four-Season’s in Hawaii.
Many of us were surprised when our district manager informed us that we were going to a little known place called Lake Gaston and staying at rental home. As soon as we arrived, our concerns vanished completely. The MacDaddy is amazing!
The entire group agreed it was our favorite venue for an offsite leadership retreat because of the house and all of Lake Gaston had to offer. The floor plans on all three floors of this beautiful home allowed us to have our seperate break out sessions in the mornings and then we spent the rest of the day deciding from the full suite of offerings the MacDaddy had to offer…kayak rides to goat island (it's a must see! Goats really are on a small island right near the house), hot tub, heated pool with waterfall, beer pong, frisbee golf, outdoor firepit, boat rides, sea-doo rides, skiing, tubing, wake boarding and my new favorite, wake surfing.
We also had our entire week professionally catered per the owners recommendation so we had very little to worry about except drinking our next margarita. The owners truly went out of their way to be sure that we were taken care of so we highly recommend that you consider staying at the MacDaddy for your next offsite business meeting or certainly a family vacation also.
PS - We also rented their boat and watercraft which I highly suggest to all to enjoy touring the lake, it’s huge!"

"This house was just what my family needed. From the time we arrived and were greeted warmly by the owners f, until we had to leave and head home, we had a wonderful time. We had enough bedrooms for all 7 of us, that included 5 adults and 2 kids. The house was well maintained and newly painted. The lake was fantastic just the perfect temperature, and with a timid swimmer the sandy beach leading to the water was perfect. Seating in the living area was a bit tight for 7. We supplemented the provided comfortable sleeper sofa and chairs with two folding chairs, so we all could be together at night. There were more than enough pots and pans, dishes, and flatware for all of our needs. The downstairs rec room was fun with the pool table, games and puzzles. The beverage refrigerator was an added bonus down there. Access to downstairs was by a spiral stair case that the grand kids loved. There were child gates to make sure little one's were safe and each room had a TV, some with cable and others only DVD usage. The only warning I have is there are lots of stairs down to the dock and lake. The stairs for us were not a problem and a good trade off when you see the lovely view of the lake from the house being above the lake provided. We had a wonderful time and would go back again in a flash. Now to just coordinate our vacation time next for next year."

"This property provided an excellent resting spot for a relaxing week at Lake Gaston. The description was accurate but did not do the property justice. The views are amazing!
The home was clean and well maintained. Anne Marie was responsive and helpful in the weeks before our trip to answer all questions and give us all the information we needed prior to arrival. Perfect getaway for those that love the water and all that implies!
The stairs back and forth to the boat dock might prove difficult for small children, elderly visitors, or those with disabilities. Lack of Wi-Fi might prove difficult for teenagers and some adults!"
