  • Gorgeous house

"The house was beautiful and situated on a really excellent part of the lake - we had a great time. We rented a boat for a couple of days, which we enjoyed. Fishing from the dock was nice - caught plenty of catfish but unfortunately no bass. We used the canoe, kayak, charcoal grill, and fire pit a lot - those amenities were much appreciated. Everything was clean and maintained well; the sheets and towels were very good quality, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. One minor detail - the can opener was broken when we got there and may need to be replaced All in all, it was a great stay. Thanks, Heather, for being so helpful and communicative!"

  • Great Home, Golf, Fishing, excellent restaurants, & great shopping in nearby Birksdale Villlage

"This home was perfect for our 4 couples. Great view of lake and home was immaculate and yard/landscaping was beautiful. In addition the owner was very responsive to things that needed fixing."

  • Pinehurst Conco

"We enjoyed this condo very much. It was comfortable, very nicely located, and exactly as described on VRBO. The hosts were very helpful with information on restaurants and booking tee times. The only thing we would have changed was the living room sofa. It was a little stiff for us, but that's a pretty minor point."

  • Absolutely Perfect!

"My wife and I went to Hickory for a month to check out the area for retirement. This lake cottage is an absolutely perfect place to stay to get to know the lake and area. The owners have meticulously thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and feel like home, maybe better. The cottage is on a quiet cove and located on the best part of the lake. Easy access to Hickory and all routes leading anywhere you want to go. Boat dock you can use if you wish to bring a boat, which I strongly recommend you do, the fishing is awesome. As far as romance, it doesn't get any better. Everything in the cottage is top of the line and very very clean. After a month we almost cried when we had to leave and can't wait to return."

Mount Airy Vacation Rentals Take You Back to Mayberry

Mount Airy's claim to fame is as the "real life" Mayberry, the town where The Andy Griffith Show took place. Year round you can have a pork sandwich at Snappy Lunch or grab a bag of sweets from Opie's Candy Shop. There is even an Andy Griffith Museum that is worth a visit for entertainment buffs. Annually held in September, Mayberry Days celebrates locally born Andy Griffith and the town that was the inspiration for Mayberry with festivities for all ages.

Mount Airy Vacation Rentals Are Close to Great Events

Live Bluegrass is a regular Saturday morning affair in Downtown Mount Airy and, in October, the Autumn Leaves Festival showcases local Bluegrass and Gospel musicians, artisans with unique crafts, and soul food served up with southern hospitality. There are over two dozen wineries close to your Mount Airy vacation house, including The Old North State Winery right in downtown, which is the only winery that is also a microbrewery in North Carolina.
