"Marty the owner was awesome to work with. Loved the feel of the log home. Decorated well. Views from deck awesome. Lighting in house was quite dim. Could not get cable to work in basement. I would suggest having a notebook on how things operated. I am sure the area would be better to visit in summer months, but it was very peaceful. It was much better than staying in a hotel. Would totally recommend this property to everyone!"

  • Wonderful family vacation!

"We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house on the lake. We are a family of 5 and it was perfect for us. Kids loved the lake and the game room. Looking out at the lake in the morning with my cup of tea was the best, so peaceful and relaxing. House was well kept and had everything we needed. We felt very comfortable there. My only criticism is the window sills looked like they hadn't been cleaned in awhile, lots of dead bugs. Windows from outside the house also needed cleaning, lots of cobwebs, leaves and dead bugs. Same for outdoor porch. Also since we had to have all bed sheets, towels and dishes clean before checkout at 11am, we were feeling a little rushed. other than that it was a great house that I would recommend to others and would come back to again."

  • Absolutely the best VRBO ever!

"I have used VRBO many times in the past in my travels and have to say this was the most welcoming, warm and inviting apartment I have ever stayed. The apartment is in a beautifully restored building within the Dilworth Historic District, which is a lovely, walking neighborhood. We could tell at first sight that it was well maintained and cared for. Jim requested that I call him when we arrived so he would know we arrived safely which was I thought was very special. He answered promptly and made sure to say he was available if we had questions about the apartment or needed additional information about the area. (He had sent me info and a map via email on local shops, grocery stores and restaurants along with his recommendations - many within walking distance). When my sister and I arrived in the evening the lights were on, classical music was playing and a platter of fresh fruits, English muffins, coffee, cookies, nuts, dried pasta and sauce, and red wine were waiting for us. The refrigerator was stocked with orange juice, white wine, butter, and sparking water. I had everything I needed for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. How many home owners think of all those little things. The living room was warm and comfortable and had a retro looking bar stocked with tonic/soda water, fresh limes and crystal containers of vodka, gin and scotch. There was also a note welcoming us and to enjoy the amenities. The bathrooms had thick, luxurious towels along with hotel sized soaps and lotions and a blow dryer. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated with lots of pillows and high quality linen and each room had plenty of drawers which made it easy to unpack and feel right at home. The apartment was on the second floor so there are stairs to climb and had a large open deck where we sat and watched the world go by. We came back to our, " home away from home," Sunday afternoon after completing a 2 day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 39.3 mile walk and enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck while watching several families walking home with arms full of pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch. I would not hesitate to stay at any of the properties offered by Home Collection when I travel back to Charlotte. Jim and James' attention to detail made our stay in Charlotte even more special and I would highly recommend their properties to anyone. (James it was a pleasure meeting and talking with you and I hope our paths cross again)!"

Southern Pines Travel Tips

Southern Pines Vacation Rentals Make Lodging Unforgettable

Picturesquely nestled in Moore County on the fringes of Piedmont and in the heart of the Sandhills, Southern Pines vacation rentals are renowned for their combination of small-town ambiance and big-city attractions. Unofficially saluted as the Mecca of North Carolina golf-vacation living, the Pinehurst Aberdeen area boasts some 43 courses within an awe-inspiring 15 mile radius lined by the finest Southern Pines condos. Combination of full service resorts and first rate comfort suites add to the alluring North Carolina Heartland vacation homes living. The region is also the site of major golf events, providing town leaders with an opportunity to distinguish the area for having one of the most vibrant downtown areas and shopping districts around.

Southern Pines Condos Put The Pulse of North Carolina Heartland in Your Hands

The ultra-diverse populous of retirees, military personnel, working families, and singles speaks to a town filled with diverse attractions such as nightly musical performances, running theater productions, and regular art exhibits and lecture series. A moderate, North Carolina heartland climate, ranging from daytime highs in the 40s in winter to mid-80s come summer, make the varying attractions all the more appealing. It may come as no great surprise, then, that outdoor sports such as golf, tennis, hiking, horseback riding, and summer softball leagues reign as the most popular activities all across Southern Pines.

North Carolina Heartland Vacation Homes Place You Near All The Big Cities

Though uncompromisingly proud of its rich, rich heritage of having survived both World Wars and the Great Depression, Southern Pines offers the added advantage of placing you within easy driving distance of the larger cities of Charlotte, Fayetteville, and the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill triangle. A drive of just a few hours more offers the choice of veering west toward the Appalachian Mountains or east in the direction of the Atlantic seashore.
