"I was on a waiting list and very glad to receive an email that the house had become available at the last minute. Apparently the cleaning crew had their schedules messed so they didn't show up and the people who rented it did not want to clean it and there was a bees nest in the backyard so they left and the owners told me if I didn't mind cleaning it then I could go ahead and come last night and they would waive the cleaning fee and have someone come in and get rid of the bees nest. Hey, I own rental properties too so I know how it works so we jumped in the car; (we live in Hickory) drove to the house, cleaned it up, made up the beds and now we are relaxing with a beverage. And happy to have saved the money; I told the kids I would order pizza over and over with the $195 we saved. (I'm sure they are not going to forget that one.)
This place is very relaxing and quiet and my wife and kids are thrilled to be able to spend some time on the lake after all since we were not able to find an available house!"

"The property was just lovely. The Home was well equipped and comfortably furnished with many amenities, including a washer and dryer. Towels, bedding, etc. were provided as were kayaks, a canoe, etc. The air conditioning was a delight since the weather was quite hot. It was nice to take a dip in the Lake and then chill on the deck under an awning. We loved our stay there (complete with some dog love from Tedley, the neighbor's dog.) Great property. We will return."

"My brother and his family joined us for the weekend. They drove down from Canada to see this tobacco farm as they live on one in Ontario. The history is fascinating to anyone with even a mild interest in farming. They outdoor environment is beautiful for long walks, enjoying nature, and a peaceful time with family. The house is wonderful with a fun hot tub, outdoor fire pit, fully equipped kitchen that made our meals together an enjoyable experience. The children had a great time overall and a lot of fun both outside and inside playing. It is a great place to get away from the day to day and focus on family, and we were able to accommodate a lot of family there - which is one of the biggest plusses ++ the place can fit a big family gathering!"

"We just returned from a week long stay at Bill & Lisa New Hill Property. We had a wonderful time. The property fit our needs perfect. We had 6 adults and 2 young ones (under 2). The property was a little drive to most restaurants and activities but that was OK with us. It was just a short drive to Jordan lake which we rented a pontoon boat and spent one of the days. It was great. The property was clean and had everything we needed. Bill and Lisa were wonderful hosts. I will be honest I wasn't sure about having the owners literally steps away but it in fact was no trouble at all. They are there if you need them but definitely not "in the way". We tried to have a fire and some mores but the weather was just too hot. We wanted to take some family pictures and Lisa was more than willing to help us out with this. My husband, son and son in law really enjoyed fishing in the pond and I know my husband wants to go back and try to catch "the big one that got away"! We will definitely rent this property again next year."
