  • Perfect Easter Break Getaway

"My daughter (14) and I stayed the Rocky River Cabin and loved every minute of it!!! I wanted to take her somewhere fun for Easter Break. The cabin was awesome. Neat, clean and well appointed. But the best part is the nature surrounding the cabin.....The river is beautiful!! We saw wild geese nesting on the bank quite near us and a bald eagle catch a fish and eat it. Amazing!! My daughter loved the river, and especially the hammock. I would highly recommend! Becky and Ned Allison are excellent hosts. Friendly and they wanted to make certain our stay was enjoyable. It's close to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore where we took a Segway tour. I would recommend that as well."

  • Simply wonderful

"Our first time using vrbo was a hit! The location is perfect- just a small drive to stores and gas stations. The property itself is not secluded but it felt like it! (We almost let that stop us from booking-so glad we didn't- yes, the cabin is in a very small neighborhood, but we never really saw a lot of people and never felt encroached upon). We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the screened-in porch at night, listening to the creek that runs behind the cabin. The cabin is well-stocked --towels, bedding, pillows were plentiful! Very clean! When I was reading reviews, I didn't see any from people with small children. Our son is 2 and loved chestnut cabin! There was a basket of toys he found and immediately took to the screened-in porch to play. He's a pro at navigating stairs so we had no issues with him climbing to the loft. They are a little steep so, if you have concerns, you might want to bring a gate or rig a blockade. :) For parents of littles with allergies: the bedding is scented so if that's a problem for you, perhaps consider bringing your own (wasn't a problem for us, just being thorough!). Playing on the property surrounding the cabin was by far his most favorite part of the whole weekend. He threw rocks in the creek and had plenty of room to run off all that energy from sitting in the car! In fact, he woke us up early both mornings, shoes in hand, "ready" to go outside! If you are traving from the south and you have the time, take the scenic route: we got off I-26 at Hendersonville and went through the Pisgah National Forest and hopped on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a bit- absolutely breathtaking!! If you're looking for streamlined stainless steel, granite, marble, saunas and spas, chestnut cabin is (obviously) not for you. But if you're looking for a clean, safe place to relax, save some money by cooking (or grilling!) your own meals, to have some privacy because your child is loud and likes to scream (A LOT), then this place is for you! We will be back!"

  • Great stay

"The apartment was clean and inviting and very comfortably furnished. Easy to get to and centrally located. After a day of hiking or whitewater rafting it was a great place to come back to and unwind."

  • Spring Break with out the kids!

"What a great location! Close to all the great restaurants and clubs! and what a great Loft... accommodations were first class and top notch! The Rustic old brick walls and old wood floors perfectly juxtaposed the new appliances, the modern interior elements and the furniture was well selected; not only for looks.. but also for function. Clean, inviting, warm and spacious.. just a few words the we thought described the location. We had PERFECT weather for the our long 4 day weekend, so we were more Out of Loft than in; Parking was NO problem. We took the advise of the Owner and utilized the Church's parking. ( close by and inexpensive!!) I couldn't give this property a higher rating... WE MOST defiantly will be back!!"
