  • Mother of the Bride

"I saw the faces and heard the reaction as one by one our family and friends arrived at the lodge - "What was my daughter thinking?" A few minutes later they knew - the view was spectacular and the lodge was impeccable. After they rode down once, the road was no longer an issue. And there was not one other complaint. Plenty of hot water for showers, the kitchen was totally prepped for cooking and the two dishwashers were a hit. Future Scrabblers will see we added a paper D, O and J as they were the only things missing on this grand adventure. As for improvements, more automatic lights on the outside stairs, and as I have a brother who uses a wheelchair, my recommendation would be this - the lodge itself is very handicap and wheelchair accessible once inside, a cement handicap space and a wooden path leading to the back door would be all that is needed. Thank you very much for completing my daughter's grand vision for her wedding."

  • Our Third Visit, Not Our Last

"As always, this house is like a warm hug! With the woodwork, the comfortable furniture, the well appointed kitchen... with this being our third stay, it's feeling like a home away from home! This trip was a bit shorter and more laid back. We spent a day touring Warren Wilson College (my son will be an Owl after a gap year hiking the Appalachian Trail), an evening blowing glass at Asheville Glass Center, a quiet afternoon in Black Mountain shopping and hanging out at the coffee shop in town, and a WONDERFUL dinner at Table in Asheville. The right amount of activity but enough quiet time and Internet usage :) And this time, we made it up the mountain in the back, surprised to find a chair nestled in the woods close to the top! Al was very attentive and the reservation process and all was quite smooth. With my son's college plans, we'll definitely be back!"

  • Do Yourself a Favor: Book Soon and Often and Relax

"Never has a vacation been so wonderful. This house has THE most INCREDIBLE view. Watching the sun make its way through the morning haze. Looking across the nightlights of the city to the mountains in the west. The absolute stillness of the mountains with the nightlife of the city streets just minutes away. The sights and sounds of Asheville were quite a lure, as was the Grove Park Inn spa just around the bend down the mountain. Eagle’s Perch is a short drive to the grocery store or a five minute drive to some the “best eats” in Western Carolina. No need to surf the Internet for restaurant listings and menus; all the information needed is already there at the house. Of course, the owners provided us with a guest booklet that described EVERYTHING. Sights and sounds of interest in Asheville. Even a walking route through the neighborhood (quiet and free of traffic). What a special treat. The houses were almost as amazing as the views they had of the mountains and the city below. The house is neatly appointed with classy and classic art as well as all the essentials found at home. We arrived for the Christmas week and enjoyed a fire in the fireplace every single day. It was fabulous. Bedrooms are all very nice; beds warm and comfy on a winter’s day. Oh, yes, the master suite on the upper floor was just luxurious. (Almost hated to go downstairs!) The game room was fully stocked with games, books and puzzles, but there is so much around to see and do, the poor room didn’t see much of us, other than the ping pong tournament!! If you want to treat yourself (and the family), enjoy ANY season or EVERY season - spring, summer, winter, fall – at Eagle’s Perch in beautiful Asheville, NC. My only caution: you may not ever want to leave!!"

  • Mountainside Retreat

"What a great place to get away from it all! So nice to see the stars at night, listen to the wildlife and take in the beauty at Cloud Nine Farm. The Heavenly Hideaway cabin is NOT roughing it at all- beautiful woodwork, all the "techie" amenities you think you need like a flat screen TV and wifi (but will realize you don't), great hot tub, gourmet style kitchen, amazing views on the property, a chance to interact with the chickens (fresh eggs for breakfast!). Easy drive into Asheville, the Biltmore and other surrounding sights. Janet (proprietor) was so nice and helpful and had great recommendations for local eateries and sights. We will definitely be coming back!!"
