"After reading all of the reviews, it was an easy decision to choose Mike's home for our 10-day vacation. Everything the other reviewers have said is true, doubled, tripled. This is a fabulous home with all of the conveniences you could want and all of the charm, too. Make sure you look over every space in the house; there are beautiful art pieces all over; I found 8 or 9 I really wanted to take home! A Jenn-Air gas range, hot, hot, hot water, really good washer/dryer, HD TVs, beautiful furnishings and decor. Great backyard for the furries in your life, too. The pictures just do not do this home justice. There are now 3 grocery stores to walk to: Harris Teeter, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods Greenlife, all next to each other. Walk to Chick-Fil-A or, if your tastes run to Vegan, Plant is an excellent choice. All are on Merrimon, 3 short blocks away. 3 blocks in the other direction are Two Guys Hoagies, Fuddruckers, Starbucks and a really cute local bakery/coffeehouse. Downtown is just another couple of blocks down from Whole Foods, so leave your car in the covered parking. We took our time exploring all of the galleries, shops and restaurants downtown and loved every minute of it. Then we got to come home to a beautiful house, great WI-FI and TV, books and very friendly neighbors. It is so quiet here! If you feel like a more nature-inspired hike, the NC Arboretum is about 10 miles away with lots of trails. Hendersonville, about 27 miles away, has two excellent wineries open for tastings, although Asheville is famous for its breweries, and two large antique malls. We didn't even have the chance to get into Biltmore Village, another couple of miles down Merrimon/Broadway/Biltmore (all the same street, just the name changes), where there are many more galleries and antique houses. This is better than a "home away from home;" it IS home! Thank you, Mike, for all of your great communication and for this lovely home."
