  • Perfection

"We booked this cabin for a short getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We were blown away with the breathtaking views....the sunrise is not to be missed!! The cabin is wonderful and the porch is even better! We had our dogs with us, and they were able to roam free and explore the land. George is full of knowledge and helpful hints and so welcoming! We will absolutely be back....maybe a fall visit next time. Thanks again, George!!"

  • Perfect Easter Break Getaway

"My daughter (14) and I stayed the Rocky River Cabin and loved every minute of it!!! I wanted to take her somewhere fun for Easter Break. The cabin was awesome. Neat, clean and well appointed. But the best part is the nature surrounding the cabin.....The river is beautiful!! We saw wild geese nesting on the bank quite near us and a bald eagle catch a fish and eat it. Amazing!! My daughter loved the river, and especially the hammock. I would highly recommend! Becky and Ned Allison are excellent hosts. Friendly and they wanted to make certain our stay was enjoyable. It's close to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore where we took a Segway tour. I would recommend that as well."

  • Would stay again!

"We were two couples coming for a relaxing new year's trip and this cabin was great for our purposes. The owners clearly take pride in the cabin and add wonderful touches that you would never expect but will appreciate in a rental. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic with plenty of room. It's almost a spiritual experience to sit in the hot tub, lights dim (almost all the lights in the cabin are on dimmers!), and just listen to the river. Do not expect to use the WiFi for much, if anything, and cell reception is minimal at best. I viewed both of these factors as added bonuses but don't plan on working remotely (lesson learned). Had we wished to spend the trip cooking and socializing at the cabin, this would not have been the right cabin for four adults. The living room and kitchen, while comfortable and nicely appointed, are not spacious and dining is at the high top table on stools with room for no more than four adults. This is a beautiful cabin in a gorgeous setting managed by owners who clearly care and have gone above and beyond. While there we found ourselves discussing a trip back in the summer to enjoy the river and truly appreciate all that this beautiful property has to offer. We would not hesitate to recommend the cabin to family and friends and hope to return!"

  • Perfect Weekend Getaway Spot in Asheville!

"My group of girlfriends are now spread all over the country and we decided to reunite in Asheville for a little reunion! The Red Gate Cottage was the perfect venue for a quiet weekend spent catching up, cooking, and exploring Asheville. The cottage is so cozy with beautifully decorated rooms, an awesome fireplace, nicely updated bathrooms, well-appointed kitchen, and plenty of towels etc. We had a rainy weekend so unfortunately we couldn't utilize the fire-pit, or chiminea, but we did love the jacuzzi tucked around the back side of the cottage. The location was great, close to grocery stores (as we forgot things and needed to run out last minute), and an easy drive to downtown. Georgia is a wonderful hostess as well! Communication with her leading up to our stay was easy, and then we were greeted with fresh (delicious!!) cookies, and wine on our arrival! I would definitely recommend this adorable little cottage for a visit to Asheville and would love to stay again if I ever make another trip!"
