  • RELAXATION!!!!

"We rented this house for the weekend. We loved it from the minute we walked in. We wanted something small, quaint and private and that is just what we got!! We wanted to do some sightseeing but we also wanted to have time to unwind. We were close enough to everything that we could enjoy sightseeing but ended up spending more time at the house. We highly recommend visiting the Biltmore!!!! We loved it so much we are looking at booking another weekend in the next two months. I would dare say this will be an annual visit!"

  • Excellent Loft/Condo in the Perfect Location

"My wife and I love going to Asheville - so much to do, so much local, great food, beer, wine, shopping. I found Jean's place for a surprise anniversary trip. Hotels were expensive and sometimes not in great locations. Jean's condo is in the best part of downtown - you can walk to just about anything within 5-10 minutes. The Great: - Great location - Very clean - A good size (while it's a 1 BD, a third and fourth person could sleep on the pull out sofa) - A well supplied kitchen - including extra dish soap, paper towels, though I'm not sure this was because the owners supplied it or previous renters left it The Bad: - If you don't like city-noise at night (sirens, people, etc), this may not be the place for you. But this should be expected downtown. This said, you only hear this in the living room and kitchen area - you can't hear this noise from the bedroom, so it's easy to sleep in relative peace and quiet. Safe parking is across the street in a reasonably priced deck ($10 a day). Given the condo pricing, you're still paying less than most of the decent hotels in downtown including this extra cost of parking. The building has an elevator to get you up and down if you need it, and her condo is well appointed for a short or long stay. Good towels, sheets, solid kitchen pans/utensils (no dirt-cheap, 30 year old pots/pans here), and there are even a couple growlers so you can get beer refilled at the restaurant downstairs. It boasts a good city view and great mountain view. It's walking distance to multiple excellent restaurants and bars, coffee shops, chocolatiers, shopping, and all of the breweries* in downtown. Unless you only want to walk to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning, you'll have to drive about 5 minutes up the road to get groceries (if groceries are in your plans), and you're still close to some excellent things north of downtown like Grove Park Inn and Spa (less than 10 minute drive). The drive to Biltmore Village and Biltmore Estate are also less than a 10 minute drive down the road, and the very cool River Arts District is about 2 miles away - a little hike if you're going to walk, but not unreasonable. We highly recommend the loft and intend on using it any time we plan to stay in Asheville. *I'm not sure if it's actually in walking distance of ALL breweries in DT, but it's darn near all of them at the time of this review."

  • Beyond Thrilled with this Gorgeous Home!

"My family and I have returned from a wonderful get-away to Asheville - and Richard's Home was the highlight! Every need was anticipated in how the home was furnished and supplied. We had the pleasure of briefly meeting Richard, the Homeowner - and he was extremely welcoming and helpful. The Sonos Music System is terrific and easy to use. The Home itself is sleek and gorgeous with wonderful views. We actually chose to stay in one night just to enjoy the large deck - and lovely view. We would love to return and stay here again!"

  • Serene, Cozy, Romantic = Perfect.

"We really loved our stay here. Just what we needed to recharge a bit and enjoy the mountains and each other on our anniversary. Wish we could have stayed longer. It really is close to downtown Asheville, but feels like it's away from everything. Even with the leaves fallen, it's pretty private. And the view is astounding. I can't imagine you're going to find a better cabin situation than this one, and thankfully, the decor is not the cheesy "bears & quilts" stuff you find in a lot of places. It's kinda "modern rustic," and none of it feels like 15 year old rejects that came from the owner's personal house (you know what I'm talking about). The cabin is very clean. Dishes are quality. The bed and sheets were amazing. The fireplace and hot tub were so worth the extra $. The manager, Brea, was great, too. Only downside I suppose is the drive up and down the mountain. It's a really steep haul without many switchbacks, but I guess that's to be expected. I don't think a 4wd would even have much luck on those grades in icy conditions, so get the travel insurance if you're staying in the winter. BTW, the restaurant suggestions in the book are outdated. There are WAY better places in Asheville now. Try Bull & Beggar, Table, The Admiral, Curate, Rhubarb, Red Stag ($$$) or Zambra, Strada, Salsa, Nine Mile ($$). But Barley's is still a great choice for pizza & beer. And don't miss the French Broad Chocolate Lounge for coffee & dessert. Last thing to know, we considered coming back with our kids (9 & 7), but there's not much space for unstructured play outside given that it's situated on the side of a mountain. Just FYI. Beautiful nonetheless."
