  • Excellence in Asheville

"We have visited Asheville many times but have always stayed in a hotel. Never again! This loft in Downtown Asheville was a much better experience. The location cannot be beat. Restaurants, shops, and galleries are literally just steps away. Parking was very simple too. This is a luxurious loft with wonderful linens, dishes, and furniture. The art is beautiful and we found it inspiring. The owner has carefully thought about what a traveler would like and it shows! The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and roomy. The appliances and washer/dryer are excellent. There's even an espresso maker! We had such a good time and hope to return soon. Skip the hotels... you will have a better vacation living like a local!"

  • Cozy Gem Nestled in the Trees in a Lovely Country Community

"We love the Asheville area and have rented several places here before. This time, we returned with our whole family of five adults and two children. As soon as we opened the door of this cozy gem, its warmth welcomed us home. This is clearly a family home that the owners generously share with their guests. It is quiet, private and nestled in the trees in a lovely country community (complete with a resident flock of wild turkeys….) about 10 minutes from downtown Weaverville and 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. The family room and kitchen have wall-to-wall windows, which overlook the deck that runs almost the entire length of the house. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or to grill dinner, while surrounded by sweet mountain air and serenaded by rustling trees. As lovely as the view is outside, the tasteful country chic décor makes for a pleasant view inside as well. The owners have chosen an autumnal palette of colors and an eclectic combination of art and ceramics that suit the space. The family room is furnished with comfy soft leather sofas and an armchair with a wall-mounted flat screen tv above the fireplace. It made a wonderful setting for watching Saturday afternoon football and late night conversation. The kitchen is very well stocked, and we had everything we needed to cook family dinners, including ample seating at the dining room table. In addition, we all enjoyed drinking the clean fresh well water. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are first rate comfort. We enjoyed hiking to the panoramic view at Craggy Gardens as well as to the top of the falls at Graveyard Fields. Marilyn and Mark were responsive every step of the way. We particularly appreciated the guides to the area that they provided, both electronically as well as in binders left for guests on the kitchen table. Their welcome home email to us at the end of our trip added a special touch to a fantastic vacation. We’re already looking forward to returning next fall!"

  • Great Getaway!

"We brought together family from all over the country to attend my son's wedding. We had three family units staying in the house and the set-up was perfect. The house was nicer than even the pictures showed. We had a wonderful time and were very pleased with the accommodations."

  • Just Right for us - Rental description is missing a few details, though.

"We had a lovely time at the Little Moose Cabin. The price was right. The location was perfect. The space was perfect for our romantic getaway for two. The hot tub is delightful and private. And, we love love love Asheville and all it's surroundings. Couple of things that need to be adjusted on the description, though: 1. It says there is WIFI. There is not. We use VRBO often and WIFI is something we require when we travel. It says it's free here, and yes, there is a wifi connection and he gives you a code....but it doesn't work - there is no access, albeit sometimes a little for a few seconds. We called the owner and he said it comes in and out. To people who rely on WIFI, that means no WIFI. 2. The drive up and down the mountain is ROUGH. You need at least four wheel drive. That should be mentioned. Luckily, we have an off road truck...but if we would have brought our other vehicle we would have been in trouble. 3. Although this is minor, the coffee pot is not the same in the picture - it's much smaller. We are coffee people and had to make several pots each morning. But, on a more positive note the TV has been updated from the picture and it is much nicer. 4. Finally, not sure if the owner was busy during the week prior to our stay, but he didn't respond to any questions that I emailed him. None. I asked about the linens, the drive up, proximity to things, the coffee pot, and more, all in probably three emails that got no answers at all. And, when he did respond, he would ask me things that I already answered...which tells me he wasn't reading my emails. That was a little frustrating, maybe after this review it will improve. Just wanted to provided an honest review. The place was generally wonderful and we wished we could have stayed longer. And, looking at the photos on this site I'm already missing it."
