"My friend and I have been taking family vacations in the western North Carolina mountains for the past 30 years. We have rented houses in Sylva, Dillsboro, Franklin, Sapphire, and have found the Cashiers/Lake Glenville area the most suitable for our extended families of grandparents, parents and grandchildren. The last house we rented in Cashiers had its own 60 Ft. waterfall and a hot tub and was our favorite. It has since been sold and is no longer a rental. Luckily we found Porchlake this summer and we and all our kids have a new favorite. The house had plenty of room . All the improvements Mr. Calloway made over the years were greatly appreciated. The boat was a big plus, and the 3 person tube was an extra added bonus. The location on the cove was tranquil and the sloping grass area between the house and lake was perfect for the smaller grandchildren. Trout fishing, gem mining, waterfall exploring, golf, boating to the nearby island and tubing was enjoyed by all. The house was well equipped and Mr. Calloway's agent, Anne Jones was very helpful with the details to make our stay one of the most enjoyable ever in the North Carolina Mountains. A hot tub on the porch would translate to a name change to Lake Porch Shangra-la!"

"My family of 5 plus one teenage friend enjoyed our stay at this home. It was easy to find, and we loved the wrap around porch. It was easy to enter with low steps and the ramp made luggage easy to roll in. The wood walls and floors were gorgeous! The entire house was very clean, and all the beds had good linens. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths for all. We used the washer and dryer a lot as the kids enjoyed playing in the creek across the road daily. We did see bear tracks at it one day, and they caught crawfish in cups! NO, we did not cook them for dinner!! The house was very comfortable, and the circular drive made coming and going easy. We made day trips to Cherokee, Seveireville, Waynesville, Chimney Rock, Asheville, and other areas easily. The Ingles Grocery Store in Waynesville was easy to access as needed. Great place for a family to relax!"

"We spend 2,5 weeks in Eagle's Nest Hideaway and felt like home every minute of it. We spent hours on the beautiful porch with ist outstanding view, enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after hiking and playing pool in the evenings. The cabin had everything we were looking for. The owners were very helpful, super friendly and easy to deal with. We returned home totally relaxed. If you are looking for a quite gettaway, this is it!"

"My husband and I stayed here for a week with our 15 month old daughter. It was perfect!! The house is fully stocked with anything you might need and the property is beautiful. The location was close enough to be only a short drive to anything we wanted to do, but far enough to have a secluded mountain getaway feel. There is also so much to do without having to get in your car and go anywhere. The animals were so much fun and our daughter loved them. We can't wait to go back. Thank you, Chuck and Sarah!"
