  • Cozy

"Cabin was conveniently located near where we were going to hike and Brevard. All amenities listed were provided and working. A bit on the rustic side, but comfortable and had everything we needed."

  • Great for Mountain Bike Weekends

"Our group of mountain bikers stayed here for the weekend. DuPont Forest is 15-20 minutes away, and with Oskar Blues Brewing in town, it makes for a fantastic mountain bike getaway. The only minor surprise was the lack of central heating in the downstairs (the main floor is centrally heated and toasty warm). The temp dropped in to the teens during our stay. The space heater kept up, but made for chilly downstairs bathroom visits. Perhaps there is central heating downstairs and we just missed it. Overall - great place and we hope to be back."

  • Perfect Getaway!!

"Summer Haven was perfect for our girls' trip! We were lookin for a place to unwind and enjoy the mountains and Asheville. The home was great for the three of us. We didn't use the kitchen, as we were busy exploring; but, it was well stocked for all your cooking needs. The beds were comfy. The house was very clean! Our favorite feature of the home had to be the fire pit!!!! They keep tons of wood on-hand and we took advantage of it two of our four nights at the home. While staying, we went to Pretty Place Chapel, Caesars Head State Park, DuPont Forest, Brevard, and Biltmore. Asheville was about an hour and ten minutes, but not that bad of a drive - just avoid any directions that take you on Cascade Lakes Dr!!!! There is so much to explore within close proximity. Do yourself a huge favor and stop by the Cedar Mountain Café located within walking distance of the house. I loved that there was no cell reception. It really allowed us to unplug and recharge. The free wifi was great for streaming our music by the fire. We are already planning our next trip back to Summer Haven."

  • Great Place for Relaxing and Enjoying Life!

"The Brigadoon was a great place for our family vacation. We loved the charm of the place and all of its amenities. We spent a lot of time on the wonderful screened-in porch. It was a great place to play cards and games and enjoy our meals together. The Brigadoon is close to DuPont State Forest. We made day trips to Bridal Veil, High, Hooker, and Triple Falls. It was great to be so close to the natural beauty of the waterfalls. I highly recommend a stay at the Brigadoon."
