"This cabin was perfect, from the decor to the kitchenwear, bedrooms, porch, hot tub, gas fireplace, new washer/dryer....everything. Perfect cabin for 3 couples - bedroom and bathroom for each. It was just the two of us this year and we decided to take a break from family for Christmas. Easy ride into town. Very thankful for allowing us to bring our four-legged girls, too. Would love to come back in the summer. Look no further for a cabin in Bryson City.

"Our children gave us this trip as our Christmas present knowing we desperately needed the time away from our hectic life's. We can't begin to compare this wonderfully thoughtful gift to any gift ever received before especially as we reached our destination to see such an absolutely magical setting. Dale and Robbie God knew exactly what he was doing by appointing the two of you as caretakers of Campbell Mountain. Seeing all the stonework, bridges, 3 tier water pond and the stone steps that lead gently onto the moss covered lawn had us feeling as if we've step into Thomas Kinkade painting.
My husband is a beach person as I prefer the mountains yet now he looks forward to our annual mountain trips as much as I do. Every year I get on the internet and search for the perfect place to stay with ratings ranging from economy to luxury and your place by far checks all the boxes.....never have we found a cabin setting that offered the best of both worlds. Our children have given us a gift of a lifetime because we intend to return EVERY YEAR for the rest of our life's.
We're still in awe of how you managed to create a fairytale setting while incorporating multiple levels of practical functionality that accommodates any age level....and yet you've done it without ever taking away from its magic. The inside of the cabin didn't disappoint either....plenty of light, comfortable bed with upscale bedding, well appointed kitchen, comfortable seating and none of that cheap toilet paper. We love the antique bedroom door and the family history attached to it. If I could make just one recommendation it would be nice to have an end table beside the couch as I'm a heavy coffee drinker.
Getting to know the both of you was another hi-lite of our stay. You are as genuine as they come and fun to talk with. We can't wait to return each year to see what you've added as you both are true visionaries of the land, poetry and photography. Dale we can't wait to see the completion of your church for Robbie ...we know it's going to blow our minds. Robbie we know you'll miss your mom's piano not being in the church.....but remember your instrument is the land..... and you play it beautifully!
We are so grateful to our children for this gift and grateful that you shared your wonderful cabin on Campbell Mountain with us.....see ya next year."

"WOW! The Nantahala River Lodge is an awesome destination retreat or vacation cabin to enjoy in the Wintertime. And owners Mickey and Annette are incredibly accommodating and their detail to things very helpful. Our winter getaway to the mountains of NC and their cabin was A++ from beginning to end.
Being right on the river and getting 4" snow; the beauty and sounds of Mother Nature was at its finest while being nestled inside this well crafted cabin enjoying the fireplace, fellowship with friends and delicious meals prepared in a well equipped kitchen. All we had to bring was food and beverage.
Pictures of the cabin and grounds drew us to want to stay at the NRL. But until you actually stay there and walk the grounds and river areas and surround yourself in the history of the structure of the cabin and furniture made of reclaimed wood from their family's NC cabins and barn along with the many artifacts and family history decor....it's unbelievably surreal.
The cabin is not that far from the NOC and while it is along side a road-that was never a problem for us. In fact, we were relieved seeing how well maintained the road was during the freezing rains/ice and snowfall. So our sad departure because our winter getaway ended, was atleast a safe drive out of the mountains.
Thank you Mickey and Annette for sharing your beautiful and unique cabin with us and your wonderful hospitality. We had a great, relaxing and special memory making time at the NRL."
