  • The Best Time Ever !

"We loved our stay in Cabin 5. Ivor and Linda are the best host you could ask for. The cabin is spacious and the night sky is amazing. We did a lot of sight seeing in Bryson City, Deep Creek, Cherokee, Cashiers, Dry Falls and Highland Falls. Our next trip will be to just stay in the cabin, hike around the area and maybe enjoy some snow. When we arrived the fire place was already set up to start a fire, the kitchen has anything you need to cook and there is a gas grill on the porch. This was a much needed vacation and we could not be happier with our stay. Thanks Linda and Ivor !"

  • Wonderful retreat!

"We stayed at Wesser Heights while we were in the Nantahala area for our annual fall paddling trip and it did not disappoint. As other reviewers have noted, the house was very comfortable and well-equipped. It's proximity to the Nantahala Outdoor Center made it an excellent choice for our group. The house was well-laid out and allowed for a variety of activities simultaneously. The bed in the master suite was one of the most comfortable that we've found in a rental property. The views from all the decks were amazing. We appreciated the hot tub and the provided plush towels after a long day on the river. The free-standing gas fireplace was beautiful and helped take the chill off the cabin first thing in the morning. The hosts and the management company were both excellent to work with and provided a lot of extras to make our stay even more enjoyable. We appreciated all of the instructions and labels which helped us both find items in the well-equipped kitchen and make sure we put them back in the proper spot. We made sure that all members of our party had copies of the driving directions. We agree with other renters that the initial ascent to the cabin is best done during daylight hours. The view is well-worth the climb! All members of our party were in agreement that we'd like to return to Wesser Heights next fall!"

  • WINTER "WONDERFUL" GETAWAY

"WOW! The Nantahala River Lodge is an awesome destination retreat or vacation cabin to enjoy in the Wintertime. And owners Mickey and Annette are incredibly accommodating and their detail to things very helpful. Our winter getaway to the mountains of NC and their cabin was A++ from beginning to end. Being right on the river and getting 4" snow; the beauty and sounds of Mother Nature was at its finest while being nestled inside this well crafted cabin enjoying the fireplace, fellowship with friends and delicious meals prepared in a well equipped kitchen. All we had to bring was food and beverage. Pictures of the cabin and grounds drew us to want to stay at the NRL. But until you actually stay there and walk the grounds and river areas and surround yourself in the history of the structure of the cabin and furniture made of reclaimed wood from their family's NC cabins and barn along with the many artifacts and family history decor....it's unbelievably surreal. The cabin is not that far from the NOC and while it is along side a road-that was never a problem for us. In fact, we were relieved seeing how well maintained the road was during the freezing rains/ice and snowfall. So our sad departure because our winter getaway ended, was atleast a safe drive out of the mountains. Thank you Mickey and Annette for sharing your beautiful and unique cabin with us and your wonderful hospitality. We had a great, relaxing and special memory making time at the NRL."

  • I found NIRVANA!

"Setting up the rental was easy enough and the owner responded quickly with detailed information. Linda has a very keen sense and will help you rent appropriate lodging with a little info, this was greatly appreciated! Directions to Rose Manor were very accurate and finding it was very easy! Upon arriving, Linda introduced herself, walked me through the rental and shared any and all info I needed to know. She also is a gracious host and will guide you to some local places that you wouldn't find on your own, that make the stay extra special! She also has an uncanny ability to give you just what you need, as I arrived in great pain from a Fibromyalgia flare up, which she eased with a Kemp seed drink, that I accepted without hesitation. We discussed many things that might help me and after 12 years of no help from physicians, Linda cured a debilitating ailment, that I am still free of 3 days later! This goes beyond any expectation I could have ever asked for! I find her to be an accepting, open and very inspirational woman who is very humble, with a knowledge base of organic foods and healthy living, like no other! She is happy to share her time with you or let you spend your time quietly, absorbing the wonderful atmosphere Rose Manor emits. Be sure to visit all areas of the grounds, for they offer observing wildlife, butterflies, the calming sway of the trees and the beautiful gardens all around. I anxiously await my next visit, as soon as I have vacation time to come back! I've stayed in dozens of places in my life, but none leave the memory that I keep for myself, that Rose Manor and Linda gave me. I came as a guest and left a friend, thank you Linda, can't wait to visit again!"
