  • Everything we wanted it to be

"We had a wonderful stay at this cabin and our vacation was everything we wanted it to be. We did the 5 R's: rest, relax, recooperate, rejuvenate, reconnect AND had fun. There are 2 guest books full of suggestions from other visitors and 2 resource books (restaurants and things to do/see) that the owners put together which were very helpful. If you look through them the first day/night you are there, you will have all the info you need on wherever you want to go and whatever you want to do. You will probably end up with a few more fun things on your list as well! The Smokey Mtn Visitor's center is just up the road as well if you need more info. The waterfalls are spectacular and there are many hikes as well. There is fresh produce and a creamery just down the road. You have it all here. A great view, rocking chairs on a screened in porch (no bugs), the hot tub, a game room, board games, charcoal grill for the BEST dinners, peace and quiet. Because it is on top of a hill (that's why the awesome view) be prepared to put it in low gear to climb the hill. Everything in the cabin worked and we didn't have any issues. Beds were comfy, dishwasher, washer/dryer and just about every thing you need in the kitchen is provided. Wi-fii was great so we could check in and post pictures at the end of the day. Vickie (the property manager) was very helpful. We had a beautiful sunrise and sunset and the Autumn colors are just beginning. The deck is unique and you can tell this cabin has been a labor of love over the years."

  • Spectacular views in relaxing, spacious, well-equipped mountain home!

"We stayed for four days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The mountain views are spectacular, and the house is very tastefully decorated with local antiques and is exceptionally well-equipped. The spacious kitchen was equipped with high-quality kitchen ware from Williams-Sonoma. We didn't need to bring anything other than food and drink. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all large, linens and towels were new and high quality, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The gated neighborhood is totally quiet, as we heard nothing but birds chirping during our stay. You can't even see any other houses in the neighborhood from the house, which gives you the feel as if you are the only person on the mountain. We did have rainy weather during our stay, as we were "in the clouds" for a couple of days. But it was amazing to watch how the distant mountain scenery was in constant change as the clouds moved through. At times, it looked like we were flying just above the clouds with the mountains poking through, and at other times we were in the clouds. Bottom line: don't let inclement weather deter you from a stay. The house is very well located; maybe a five minute drive to downtown Cashiers. Ingles grocery store is maybe three minutes away. We were also surprised at the wildlife we observed in the neighborhood, as we spotted lots of wild turkey, deer, and a mama black bear with three cubs! We can't wait to rent the house again! Thank you for a great time!"

  • Treehouse Fun

"The Treehouse Chalet is cozy, clean and welcoming. I prepared a full breakfast one morning and found all the necessary tools to do that. Plenty of wood was available for the wood burning stove, a good thing as it got quite cold. There were several great restaurants within a short drive and we had wonderful meals in Clyde and Waynesville. Be aware, if winter weather is predicted, you will need a 4WD vehicle to get into the driveway, the snow plow stops about 50 feet shy of it."
