  • Great summer vacation

"My wi, adult children and I stayed at the house for 6 nights. It was great! The house was very roomy, kitchen appliances were wonderful, furniture very nice and comfortable, etc. My favorite was the upstairs porch (no furniture on the downstairs porch) - great views. Watched hummingbirds zip around. The development is beautiful. Houses are somewhat spread apart so you feel a bit isolated, but you're not really. Flowers everywhere. All in all, we were very pleased with the house."

  • Even Better Than Last Year!

"My wife and I just spent 3 days at the Nest for Two celebrating our 36th anniversary. We celebrated our 35th there last year, and the Nest immediately vaulted to the top of our list. It’s the only place we’ll stay in Highlands now! You simply can't beat the combination of an easy-to-reach wooded setting, silence that's broken only by the sounds of crickets and cacadias at night, attractive and functional architecture, privacy, cleanliness, convenience, and a reasonable price. Neil and Paula are kind, gracious, and hospitable hosts who are there for you but never hover over you. The forest view from the second-story porch is lovely and the cushioned chairs are comfy. The king bed is top-of-the-line, as are all of the kitchen appliances. For entertainment there's high speed Wi-Fi, Dish TV with a large flat-screen, and an assortment of movies, books, and games. As the web page indicates, there are a number of half-day and full-day side trips you can take. There are the kinds of hikes I like - short and easy - and the kind my wife likes - long and strenuous. There are also several dozen restaurants to choose from. At the top of our list are Wolfgang's, Lakeside, Paoletti's, and the Verandah. When you want a more economical meal, there are pizza and sandwich shops and the delicious eat-in or take-out full meals or sandwiches at the not-to-be-missed Mountain Fresh Grocery. Trust me, it's not your neighborhood Kroger deli counter. Like I said in my review last year, different people look for different things when they're searching for a get-away. You may be looking for a different type of place and experience. But if you find yourself smiling as you view these pictures and as you read this information and these reviews, and if you say to yourself, "This is the kind of place I think I'd like," trust those feelings and make your reservation. You'll find the Nest for Two hard to beat. We enthusiastically recommend it and will be returning next year to celebrate number 37."

  • Our favorite house yet!

"Our family has been coming together in Highlands for nearly 10 years for a week in June. This house met our every need and is in the beautiful Old Edwards Club between Cashiers and Highlands. Temporary membership was well worth doing for all of us--lovely pool , awesome golf course and clubhouse and Grill most enjoyable. The house has room for everyone to spread out, beds the MOST comfy we've ever slept in on vacation, porch-outdoor fireplace the best spot on cool evenings. Debi and ssDavid were most helpful and attentive during our stay-wonderful hosts. We have already reserved our week for 2015!"

  • the owner was very kind and easy to deal with thank you sheri

"the cabin is set in the mountains with a wonderful creek running through the back yard. My husband and I went for a quiet week together and the cabin was perfect and peaceful. The cabin is beautiful and very well stocked so if you forgot something it was there. The whole atmosphere was tranquil and made it hard to leave. There were many things to form walking to playing games and fishing. Every detail inside the cabin was nice and made you feel very relaxed."

Canton Travel Tips

Time for Shopping and Resting with Canton Vacation Rentals

There's a lot of shopping to be done in Canton, Texas. The area is best known for its Canton vacation rentals, but they also boast a huge shopping event. The flea-market styled shopping is called First Monday Trade Days and is one of the biggest and most popular attractions of the area. Vacationers in the Canton cabins count this event as a big draw for them and enjoy all of the shopping at this event. Many vacationers lodge at one of the comfortable Canton vacation rentals and maximize their stay. In addition to their shopping excursions, they also get a little rest in one of the Canton cabins.

Exciting Activities Near Canton Vacation Rentals

Smoky Mountain cabin rentals have lakefront cottages that are inviting for the wearied shopper. Trade days can be a tiresome event, but worth it with all of the comforts and amenities at the Canton cabins. A Smoky Mountain cabin is quite different from standard vacationing in a hotel. Vacation rentals in Canon are secluded, quiet and offer a wonderful respite for vacationers. Hotel accommodations simply give you a place to sleep with no comforts or activities. With lakehouse rentals on Cedar Lake, fishing and relaxing are high on the to-do list for vacationers. Each of the cottages in Canton can lodge up to 12 guests, allowing ample room to move around and be comfortable. The large accommodations also give you a lot of space to store your goodies from the flea-market shopping extravaganza.

Smoky Mountain Vacation Rentals for Summer Getaways

Vacation rentals also make excellent summer homes because of their size and conveniences. Many vacationers choose to take months instead of a few weeks of vacation. Just imagine spending two or three months on the lake with unlimited fishing, hiking and biking in addition to the great shopping. Canton vacation rentals offer comfort and convenience but also the solitude and peace that makes for a nice, quiet vacation. Besides, you will need the quiet to examine all of the good finds you'll get at the trade days shopping event!
