  • a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing, refreshing week - wish we could have stayed for a month!!!

"house was exactly as pictured - well furnished, neat, clean, roomy enough for a small group. Views are terrific! You can watch the mountains from your bedroom balcony. My favorite spot was the screened porch in a rocking chair - started every morning here with coffee and a book. Even in mid-July we only used the air conditioning one day - the mountain breezes kept the house cool. Everything we needed was in the house (with the exception of a good paring knife!). We went houseback riding one day at Shady Bottom Trail Rides in Madison, NC and then spent the early evening in the hot tub watching the stars. One day was spent in Gaitlenburg, Tenn (1 1/2 hours away) and a day in Cherokee (1 hour away). We found Smoky Mountain Roasters coffee shop in Waynesville (15 minutes away) and their Carolina Vacation Blend coffee is terrific! (brought some home!) "Butts on the Creek" restaurant in Maggie Valley has delicious barbecue if you decide not to cook at the house (which we did most days). My family and I certainly loved this vacation and we will be back - maybe in the fall to watch the changing leaves. Don't think I want to tempt fate and get caught in snow here (I don't have a 4-wheel drive) but I bet it would be beautiful to see. We will be back in Maggie Valley - still lots of things to do and see that we did not get to on this trip. Thanks for sharing your house with us for a wonderful week vacation. I will look for a rental house again and never go back to motels again."

  • Adorable Cottage

"My husband and I stayed in the cottage last weekend with our two dogs. From the moment we walked up to the property you could tell that Ellie took pride in her home. There were fresh cut flowers in every room, the furniture was cared for, and the house was extremely clean and tidy. We were lucky that the weather cooperated so we could enjoy the front porch looking onto the beautiful garden. At night the area around the house is extremely quiet and you would think you were in the country. We cooked our first night there and the next morning and were pleasantly surprised to see such a well-stocked kitchen. The cottage had so much personality from the romantic netting and sitting area outside to the spot on the wall where she marked her children's height (and her own with and without boots). ;) We felt like we grew to know Ellie and it made our stay so much more enjoyable. We hope to return soon!"

  • Perfect place to get away!

"We stayed in the cabin while doing some recording in nearby Asheville. The cabin was a perfect place to come back to after a long day. It was clean and is located in a very quiet, secluded area. The front porch is a great place to have a cup of coffee and forget your troubles. Every bed was very comfortable. Be aware there is no cell phone service at the cabin but if you are looking to get away, then it could actually be a blessing! On my next visit to the Asheville area, I only hope that I can stay there again."

  • Simply outstanding!!

"This house is just exceptional both inside and out!! The interior is both gorgeous and comfortable. Besides the 5 beautiful bedrooms and baths, it is hard to remember all the principal rooms within the house that we used - the spectacular living room, the cozy library, the sunny family room, the lovely lower living room, and not to forget the charming sunroom. The outdoors is equally inviting with several stone patios and decks as well as 4 gazebos. we also enjoyed sitting listening to the two waterfalls. My big group was never crowded as the property has so much room inside and out! A true gem! We will be going back next June!"

There's a lot of shopping to be done in Canton, Texas. The area is best known for its Canton vacation rentals, but they also boast a huge shopping event. The flea-market styled shopping is called First Monday Trade Days and is one of the biggest and most popular attractions of the area. Vacationers in the Canton cabins count this event as a big draw for them and enjoy all of the shopping at this event. Many vacationers lodge at one of the comfortable Canton vacation rentals and maximize their stay. In addition to their shopping excursions, they also get a little rest in one of the Canton cabins.

Exciting Activities Near Canton Vacation Rentals

Smoky Mountain cabin rentals have lakefront cottages that are inviting for the wearied shopper. Trade days can be a tiresome event, but worth it with all of the comforts and amenities at the Canton cabins. A Smoky Mountain cabin is quite different from standard vacationing in a hotel. Vacation rentals in Canon are secluded, quiet and offer a wonderful respite for vacationers. Hotel accommodations simply give you a place to sleep with no comforts or activities. With lakehouse rentals on Cedar Lake, fishing and relaxing are high on the to-do list for vacationers. Each of the cottages in Canton can lodge up to 12 guests, allowing ample room to move around and be comfortable. The large accommodations also give you a lot of space to store your goodies from the flea-market shopping extravaganza.

Smoky Mountain Vacation Rentals for Summer Getaways

Vacation rentals also make excellent summer homes because of their size and conveniences. Many vacationers choose to take months instead of a few weeks of vacation. Just imagine spending two or three months on the lake with unlimited fishing, hiking and biking in addition to the great shopping. Canton vacation rentals offer comfort and convenience but also the solitude and peace that makes for a nice, quiet vacation. Besides, you will need the quiet to examine all of the good finds you'll get at the trade days shopping event!
