"I could not be happier with the stay at your charming home. I was disappointed that the creek I told me son he would have to play in was grown up to the point it was not accessible. We did go down to the river and enjoyed our time there. The only thing I thought the house did need is a microwave. it is the only thing I really missed, and there was no way to get news or weather. no TV, radio. Maybe a weather radio would be nice. I will remember to bring one on my next visit. I will be back regularly. Thank you fo r allowing me to use your home."

"The owners greeted us when we arrived even though it was a rainy day. We felt very welcome. Our cottage was great! The cottage had everything we needed except for food. The time we were there it rained heavily so we spent a lot of time just relaxing. The view of the Lotla Branch was great. Due to the rain the water was a bit high and faster than normal, however by mid week it was down to a slow trickle again and we were able to do a bit of rock hounding. The rain returned but we took advantage of the weather to just relax. The Wifi was not very strong and was hit or miss so if you absolutely need reliable internet I would suggest using a phone or tablet either in town or at a hotspot. We were able to walk around the cottage and get a weak signal but it was enough for my phone to check for messages. There were lots of books, satellite TV and a DVD player so we had plenty to keep us occupied when it was pouring down rain. We were glad there was a washer and dryer in the cottage because we did get a bit muddy from rock hounding in the area. We will definitely keep this on our short list and come back."

"Our family of five just returned from a week spent in this beautiful cabin. The cabin is just as described in the VRBO posting. It is very clean and well stocked with everything you need. We loved the common area where we fished, tubed, and picnicked. The surrounding area is beautiful as well. We visited several waterfalls, the Wayah Bald fire tower (which has a spectacular view), Rufus Morgan Trail, and the towns of Highlands, Cashiers, Franklin, and Nantahala. Lake Nantahala is one of the prettiest lakes we have seen with it's emerald green water. We used the grill at the cabin to prepare several meals and also dined at Motor Co. Grill, which has great burgers! While in Franklin, we visited the town square, the gem museum, and the Franklin Historical Museum, all of which were very interesting. Overall, this was one of the best mountain vacations we have ever had. Our whole family agrees that we would happily return to River Bear Cabin and this area of North Carolina."
