  • Beautiful cabin for a relaxing vacation

"My wife, mother and I stayed in this cabin for the week of thanksgiving to have a relaxing getaway and we were certainly not disappointed. The rooms are all spacious and beautifully adorned with lots of wood. The view from the balcony was breath taking, and the kitchen was a joy to use. We'd absolutely recommend it to anyone!"

  • The Producer

"What an absolute grand place! Beautiful and cozy and I will never forget the painting over the living room fireplace. I am a producer that does photography for Cabela's "World's Foremost Outfitter" I just wrapped a three week shoot in DuPont State Park and the Pisgah National Forest. We rented this place for approximately 26 days because the location was perfect. The owner was able to work with my budget as we were renting during off season. The house was perfect allowing each person their own privacy in the evenings with bedroom and bathroom but with gathering areas on main floor for my large crew. Chris the owner was great to work with plus having Bryan the property manager next door was a big plus. Oh and by the way Bryan is a great chef that helped with some of our meals. Great folks to work with - Awesome house - Great location - Great experience"

  • Great retreat!!!

"Nice vacation spot. Great location for hiking--Whiteside Mountain--and sightseeing--Whitewater Falls. Stream on property a plus. Fell asleep each night listening to the stream. Had to decide each morning whether to have coffee on front porch or by the stream. Cabin was clean and comfortable equipped for all kitchen needs and TV/internet. I would recommend to the owner to update mattress and bed linens in main bedroom. Lots to do in the area and I would return and recommend to others.Easy to find and how many places in America can you enjoy coffee outside and never hear a vehicle. Great value. Owner holds the damage deposit and returns promptly."

  • nice little cottage

"We came up to meet some friends hiking thru on the trail and stayed 3/20/15-3/23/15. I have to say some of the critiques of this place in other reviews didn't reflect our experience and seemed a little unfair. The house looked and smelled very clean. My fiance has a very sensitive nose and we both have asthma and allergies and we had absolutely no problem with must or mold. It is an old cottage with a lot of character and we found it very cute and cozy and what we got for the price was totally reasonable. It seemed that some renters were trying to compare with a 4 star hotel room which is not at all appropriate. Apples and oranges. I grew up in old houses and have really learned to apprecite them. The only suggestion I would have is that it may be time to replace the linoleum in the bathroom again. I know from experience that its really hard to keep the floor dry under a clawfoot tub because that original copper tubing tends to leak a little so linoleum does tend to deteriorate pretty quickly under them. But since the bathroom was cleaned very well, it was a minor cosmetic issue. Hot tub was very private behind partition and not visible from road or other houses. The water was nice and hot and with good jets. The short walk to town was convenient. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching hikers come into town. The house is close to the main road coming into town (which is part of the Appalachian trail) but its such a quiet little town that there is no worry about noise and traffic. There's also a nice view of the mountains from the porch and can also see a little bit of a mountains from the hot tub. We also had fun relaxing inside the house watching tv and playing board games. We were so happy to find 'Upwards' in the closet. The living room couch is super comfortable and could easily be another great place to sleep. Owner Melanie was very attentative. Overall- good value for the price. Charming and cute little place."
