  • Beautiful Home

"Renting Maplewood for a three-day getaway was a great experience from start to finish. Rob was so nice and easy to work with on the arrangements, and the home itself is absolutely lovely. It worked out perfectly for four adults and one small dog--providing great communal spaces as well as end-of-day privacy in spacious bedrooms with their own private baths. The home is beautifully decorated, well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful--very close to town and all of the sites, restaurants and shopping of Highlands. Really, there was not a single thing about this rental that I would change. This is by far the best rental experience we have had, and we would highly recommend Maplewood. I hope we will have the opportunity to return."

  • Perfect with a capital P.

"The road kept climbing and turning with each breathtaking view better than the last. The timing was perfect for enjoying the colors in the woods. When we opened the door we were instantly awed. The first thing we saw was the breathtaking view. Words don't do it justice. The upper deck is reached by a sliding glass door. The living area, kitchen and dining nook are all open to the view. I could write a book, but I'll just give the hi lights. The cabin was emmaculately clean and well stocked with everything but food. The finished lower level has another sitting/game room and it's own bedroom and bath. And a deck of its own. Back upstairs you can cuddle around a cozy fire or grill a fine meal on the outdoor grill. If you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway, this is it. You will not want to leave We enjoyed shopping Muphy and meeting lots of people, found a beautiful waterfall nearby and of course toured the John C Campbell Folk School. Some great artists in brass town. Everything about the cabin and area was just as described and booking our reservations couldn't have been easierCan't wait to go back to Narnia -- maybe in the Spring. Thank you Susie for sharing your "home"."

  • Relaxing River Retreat

"ZThese pictures don't do the house justice! The living room has a large comfy sectional couch. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies. We stayed here to relax & recharge after the holidays & it was a perfect retreat! While there is no wifi & very limited cell service you can make it to town quickly. So it was the perfect place to unplug without feeling completely cut off. The view is stunning! The river is right there & the mountains in the background!"

  • Amazing trip with dear friends in perfect house and location!

"We wanted to find a perfect location to spend a few days with dear friends before our two oldest children left for college for their freshman year. This home could not have been more perfect in every way! It is located in the beautiful Lake Toxaway in the mountains. The three bedrooms on the main floor all had their own bathrooms and amazingly comfortable beds. The kitchen is very updated and fully stocked with absolutely anything you could imagine you would need. The large den with the high ceiling is a very comfortable way for all of to hang out and spend great time together. The huge deck was great for card games and other games with a great view for all of us! The downstairs has 2 bunk beds and a couch - perfect for the three girls. The house is just up from the golf course and the marina where you can rent boats. It is all a short drive from Sapphire Valley and Cashiers where there are lots of great restaurants and shops (Mica's and Cornu Copia and the Sapphire Valley Brewing Company) - and of course right around the corner from our favorite Brown Trout restaurant. We also had a great trip to the waterfalls and a hike all close by. It was all in all the perfect vacation which allowed us to create wonderful memories for years to come! Most of all, the owners were fabulous and very easy to work with - and made us feel like we were their personal guests for the weekend."
