"It was very clean and easy to access not to far away from the main attractions. Ducks were fun to interact with and good areas to go hiking. I would recommend this to anyone that wants peace and quiet after a day at the main attractions. Owner very responsive to any questions asked."

"My wife and I were absolutely charmed by this mountain lodge. The house is absolutely pristine with wonderful mountain vistas to enjoy from multiple decks. I had planned this rental for part of our honeymoon and was uncertain whether we would be too remote from the city to enjoy ourselves, but quickly discovered this is situated perfectly for our interests. We were a short 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville (~5 minutes of which is the winding mountain drive to the property) and felt close enough to any of our interests in Asheville or Black Mountain, along with day trips up the Parkway, into Eastern Tennessee, and to Chimney Rock. The gravel road climbing the ridge is really not bad but I would agree with recommendations to try and arrive during daylight hours; it's simple after your first time up but daylight helped. The benefit of staying here is that in addition to access to the cities, we enjoyed a genuine mountain retreat experience. Very relaxing and refreshing to be on a quiet ridge overlooking part of the valley and up towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. What a magical five days / nights. We certainly hope to return in the future."

"Our mid-summer escape from Atlanta temperatures in the mid-to-high 90s to this clean, well-furnished, and well-equipped Highlands home was such a pleasant relief! The screened-in porch is a gem: a nice view and shaded by trees from harsh sunlight. Bad knees and a 6-month-old infant kept us from capitalizing on the fairly easy walk along a quiet road into Highlands, a cute town with plenty of places to eat. However, with a screened-in porch just steps away from a very well-equipped kitchen, we ate all meals “at home.” The owners must have once lived in this house, because every nuance has been considered and addressed. We’re sure to return."
