  • Fabulously, cozy stay!

""Solitude" was a wonderful place to visit. We were greeted by some neighborhood dogs upon arrival, which made us miss our two Dachshunds a little bit. The home was nice and cozy with an inviting ambience and various signs of the owners' spirituality. Those things made our stay all the more worth it. We visited Lake Lure for the Dirty Dancing festival, fed a groundhog on the Parkway from our bare hands, and visited Burntshirt Vinyards. We were accompanied by another couple and were able to make fun memories with them. Terri was extremely accommodating and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend "Solitude" for any person wishing to relax and enjoy a beautiful scene."

  • It was an amazing trip!

"We highly recommend staying at Young at Heart. We had the most amazing time - I cannot imagine it being any better. We were seeking a getaway where we could hike and relax and Young at Heart was perfect for us. The hiking was fabulous --- lots of trails and opportunities for different adventures each day. The owner provided us with great directions and recommendations. And the house is beautiful with all the amenities of home - it was comfortable and cozy. We had the good fortune of perfect weather - cool but not cold. We enjoyed the fireplace and spent a lot of time on the balcony with the spectacular views. We highly recommend Young at Heart!"

  • Rated 6 Stars!!

"We have rented several houses in the NC and VA mountains and this one is the best. A two week trip was definitely not long enough for our late September/early October visit. The house is tastefully decorated with elegant living and dining areas and a huge master suite. It offers comfortable furnishings throughout and two cozy dens for watching TV, reading from the fantastic selection of books, and playing games. We spent hours enjoying the large partially covered deck that offers spectacular views of the mountains and the private wooded yard. We didn't even miss going to the gym with the universal weight machine in the walkout basement and daily walks through the peaceful neighborhood while enjoying the bells from a nearby church. It was perfect for our motorcycle with easy paved access (no steep hills) with a separate driveway right into a spacious garage. Jim was very attentive, ensured everything was satisfactory, and we couldn't ask for anything more. This house is conveniently located to major roads, shopping, golf, and restaurants, and just a few minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Before our visit had ended we were already planning a return trip. You will not be disappointed with this home!"

  • Gorgeous up-to-date home!

"My family and I stayed there for a week the end of July. There were 8 of us and we had more than enough space. We have stayed at many vacation homes in many different places. This was, by far, the cleanest, most well-maintained home we have rented. The first room we saw upon entering is the kitchen. The appliances are top of the line. My husband LOVED the flat top on the range! The counter tops are lovely and we took notice of the uniqueness of the counter top and sink in the half bath. The great room has a very grand feeling with the large fireplace. We ate all of our meals at the dining room table off the kitchen. The bedrooms are very spacious with extremely comfortable beds. I did notice all of the art work/paintings throughout the entire home. Maybe the owner is an artist? My son and his cousin took the bonus room above the garage. They had their own little "boy-cave"! My daughter had the bedroom upstairs with the view of the mountains. She looked so tiny in the king sized princess bed! The master bedroom and bathroom was AmAzInG!! I think its larger than our home in Ohio! Now let me mention the view off the back deck...Breathtaking!! I dont think I could ever get tired of looking at those spectacular mountains. Every 15 minutes the colors and and view changes. My dad had "his favorite" chair on the deck. I wonder how much time he spent sitting there. So nice to see him relaxing and soaking in the peacefulness of nature. The Connesstee Falls area is unlike any area I've ever stayed in before. The hikes around the area and the waterfalls are like something out of another world. The trails are well taken care of and you can sense the love that goes into keeping them accessible. My husband and I fell in love with the whole Brevard area. Thank-you for allowing us to make more family memories in your wonderful home! I would recommend this home to everyone who wants to get their moneys worth and more!"
