"This was our first experience with VRBO, and overall, the house was great. We're a family of 3 with a young child (aged 7), so we didn't even really need to use the downstairs section of the house.
We spent most of our time on the deck off the kitchen, which was peaceful and relaxing amidst the trees, with a few nice views of some of the surrounding mountains. The kitchen was also a highlight, and we cooked most of our meals while we were on holiday, which we love.
There were a few issues, though: for some reason, VRBO has the wrong house number listed, which meant that the HomeAway app was directing us to an address that does not exist. When trying to find a house after hours of traveling, in the mountains, after dark, when it's raining, this is NOT FUN. This problem should be corrected immediately.
That said, the owner was wonderfully responsive throughout the entire process, from booking to the end of the stay, and she answered our somewhat desperate (second) phone call to give us the right address.
Other relatively small things: the cleaning service greeted us (at 18:00, when check-in is listed at 15:00), and needed at least a full hour to finish cleaning after we arrived. They were very nice and apologetic, but obviously we would prefer to have the home ready when we arrived. Also, the TV description indicates that guests have access to Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu, but does not explicitly state that cable or even basic television service of any kind is not provided. This was a problem because we were committed to watching the US WNT play in the World Cup final, and we had to pay for online access to be able to stream it online. Finally, the washer-dryer, which is most welcome and was much used during our short stay, is physically located in one of the bedrooms, which makes it difficult to run in the evenings.
Nevertheless, apart from the address problem, all of these other issues are relatively minor. The house is beautiful and welcoming, and we enjoyed our stay."
