"What a magnificent cabin! The pictures online did not do it justice. The cabin was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and in an amazing setting. The views from the cabin were breathtaking and ever changing. One minute you've got a clear view of the river and beautiful mountains and the next minute the clouds set in and it feels like the cabin is floating. Our only concern was what activities we could do since we were taking a winter vacation. We were a bit worried about what our 12 year old and 9 year old could do without water activities. Our concerns were quickly put to rest. We did everything from visiting the Biltmore House to tubing at the Cataloochee Ski Area. Thank you Rona and Steve for great service and an amazing vacation."

"We spent 10 days with our baby and dogs. We loved the area, and we loved the lake. The house was clean, comfortable, and the view from the deck was spectacular. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina around the corner and used it for tubing, fishing and a trip to the Dam. The boathouses on the lake add eclectic local flavor. Most of the lake is unspoiled, however, due to the fact it is surrounded by forest service lands.
The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and utensils for cooking. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The deck is perfect for cocktails and dining "al fresco." The dock was a short golf cart ride away.
Can't say enough about this rental and Lake Fontana!"

"This was definitely an adventure. Our family of four (two ten year old girls) spent a week enjoying the serenity of being surrounded by the Smoky Mountains (in front of you) and the Nantahala National Forest behind us. Steve gave us a brief intro on how to use the technology in the house (it took maybe 30 minutes, and you do need to pay attention). After that, we were truly off the grid.
The water was amazing. It was easy to see 10-15 down into the lake and fun to watch our daughters neon suits almost glow. Most of our days were spent tubing behind the pontoon boat (not fast, but fun) and casting a line in the water. We boated to different locations around the park and spent time hiking in the Park, rarely seeing other boaters. We hit the rope swing down the river on a daily basis and enjoyed flinging ourselves out into the water. We caught numerous fish from the dock and ate them right away. We didn't get to fish out on the lake with Bobby, but we enjoyed his visits and his fishing advice from the house. And, the light pole he helped us erect for night fishing was a huge pastime. The TV was available, but rarely on.
Like others, we ate every meal at the house -- which was a treat for us. Do NOT rely on the marinas for food or groceries. You do need to plan ahead with your supplies, but the kitchen was well-stocked. We loved eating dinner on the decking next to the house and watching the hummingbirds and scouting for bald eagles. It helped us that we had someone join us mid-week who brought additional food so we didn't have to leave the house for groceries.
We rarely ran the electricity during the day and found the breeze to be pleasant enough to not need the AC provided, or the heat (we were starting to get chilly one night, which was a blessing). The bedding and towels provided were good quality and there were plenty of them. You are showering in lake water but it was clean and Steve provided plenty of drinking water and replenished extra ice throughout the week. The cell phone connection, as indicated, worked best in the lake but also worked at certain sweet spots on the deck and at night.
We are strong swimmers. I wouldn't recommend this house for anyone who isn't very comfortable on the water. The house was stable and you barely felt it rocking in the gentle waves (which were mostly from the very few boats that went by). You do need to plan ahead to bring what you need and appreciate what you have. It was a true respite from reality."

"Had a wonderful trip with family last week. The cabin has just about everything you need! Kitchen necessities and staples are all there and ready for you. Firewood was there (but too fresh/wet to burn too well but not a major complaint...just had to work harder to keep it going). Grill, Deck, Swingset, Movie Room were big hits for all.
Cabin is big enough for everyone but private spaces for all. Great views, quiet setting, can do nothing at all and still feel like it was a great day! Location is very rural but drive to Robbinsville isn't too bad and they have about everything else you'd need.
We would visit again!"
