  • Absolutely Perfect!

"My husband and I spent five nights in this cabin and absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in it felt like home. Immaculately clean, fresh and tastefully decorated. Diane and Gene were so very helpful. We had the chance to look at all three cabins and would have been equally pleased in any of them. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years (managing a large property for the past 15) and I have to say this is one of the nicest places we have stayed in all of our 31 years of marriage. We had planned to camp this summer for a week but have decided to book this property again. Cannot wait to return!"

"We don't make many reviews and have stayed at several rental properties on VRBO. This property was not only very accommodating via short notice, but the affordable price aspect of it was equally appealing as the property being exactly what we have needed. We have stayed at 3,000 and 5,000 sq ft properties for our 4 person family and found this property in no way inferior to those experiences had at larger properties. Very Cozy property, great for kids, great location, central (in our humble opinion) to everything, and while it may not be remote and isolated its by no means by any busy or trafficked area. Great paved road as access (versus a graveled or dirt road). We are building in the Sylva area and found this areas to be about 20 minutes and a very short and scenic drive to the Sylva area. The area is also very central to Highlands, many waterfall park areas, parks, and multiple Gem mining activities and shops. Downtown Highlands is about 20 to 30 minutes away depending on how you drive. Property enjoyed some great views of the surrounding forest (180 degrees from the rear of the property) as well as a good size yard for kids to play in and enjoy the swing out front. The patio and newly renovated kitchen were also nice touches that are real pluses to the property. Summary: the well priced nature of this house should not be (mistakenly) dwarfed from its cozy and very accommodating aspects. Great Owner to work with and very responsive. No issues during our stay or post stay, or getting deposit back. Would stay again."

  • Riverfront Retreat

"We had a great time at this beautiful home! The kids loved playing in the yard, hiking, swimming/tubing in the river, and cookouts on the deck. What a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We will definitely plan another vacation at this beautiful home."

  • Wonderful in every way!

"My sisters and I and our families decided to meet in the mountains after Christmas because it was halfway between our homes in eastern NC and central TN. After much research, we decided on Lady Bug Estate because of positive reviews and price. We could not have chosen a better place to stay! The house was spacious and comfortable and the large gas log fireplace gave the family room a very cozy feel. In addition, the downstairs area with the pool table, games, free standing gas firebox, bedroom area to sleep 4 and a full bath was a great retreat for the kids, teenagers and young adults to hangout while the adults enjoyed the upstairs (or vice-versa)! The view From the large porch was 'to die for'! We did a day trip to Highlands that should be at the top of everyone's to do list who stays there! The scenery along the way was truly breathtaking and the town of Highlands was a great place to shop and eat! We all, from youngest to oldest, consider it a highlight of our trip. We even had the opportunity to meet the owners who were kind, helpful and very personable! You can choose places closer to the "touristy" spots but my recommendation would be to stay here, save money on the rental and just do day trips to those places. That's what we plan to do, as we will definitely be going back, and will recommend Lady Bug estate to all of our friends! Thanks, Diane, for making your home available to us!"
